@brianleroux Think I’m going off surma.dev/things/is-post… > Something that the algorithm above doesn’t spell out explicitly is the fact that serialization blocks the sending realm, while deserialization blocks the receiving realm.

@brianleroux Huh, I’ve always been under the impression that postMessage + structured clone still requires (blocking) deserialization on the main thread.

@brianleroux to clarify, wondering if the worker is really necessary here vs keeping things simpler and fetching on the main thread

@brianleroux Neat post! I’m confused about the worker bit: > Updating data may require fetching data from the server, which can be slow. If we can offload this slow work somewhere we can avoid stalling the interactivity of the UI This should be mostly async except the JSON parse?

@mjackson I imagine you'll get a biased answer here, but I was still a little surprised by the results @drewml wrote a blog for us at H-E-B (that he never published!) showing how easily we all were inadvertently creating waterfalls by using Apollo Client to fetch data in our components 🙃

Would you rather have your data fetching associated with the current route or with a component?

@zeeg Is a similar vein, would be neat if Sentry could try and replicate bugs the SDK already found by inferring a user’s trail via breadcrumbs (guessing they’re too lossy, but would be cool)

@zeeg Curious what the MITM role was (passive traffic collection for learning flows? Replaying requests for instrumented clients without hitting real server later)?

Anyone wanna come build this? Hackweek project I built in 2019, but still dream of shipping. Whats not shown here: a MITM proxy that was simulating traffic on production websites to identify bugs without being instrumented
