Overrated.
And I say this as someone who's planning to do something similar (no I didn't get it from RL, I was thinking of it years ago; nothing new under the sun).
Is it a solid choice? Yeah, I wouldn't plan on it if I didn't think it was. But its benefits are modest and its drawbacks are non-trivial.
It's also not that hard to think of.
People are treating it like this genius new invention that will be a key differentiator in operating cost. It's not. It's a oh-good-I'm-glad-someone-is-finally-trying-to do-it-that-way that'll hopefully be worth it.

I'm thinking about the Vulcan one - I think that's a pretty clean subject area.

@DrPhiltill Bear in mind, lunar launch facilities will not be subject to Booster exhaust forces (33 engines) and by eventually elevating and pitching thrust diagonally, lunar dust blast can be minimized. 3 elevated and pitched engines to 10 kilometers and then combo with 3 aft engines.

We are aiming at the lowest temperature pre-burner due to our highest efficiency turbo-pump, providing ample margin for thrust boost and reducing oxygen flammability risk without the need for exotic coatings/materials (as typically needed in less efficient and higher temperature ORSC engines turbine and pre-burner).
