Most great eCom operators/growth marketers that I've worked with all come from dropshipping. Coincidence?.. I've invested close to $25k or so of my own money into courses, paid ads, sourcing products and trying to start my own eCom brands. I'm 23 now, started when I was 19-20. Back then I was working minimum wage jobs in Uppsala, Sweden. A city of 150k people where nothing ever happens. The main thing Uppsala is known for is it's University (I never went so idk why xd). I graduated high school during the pandemic so I had to take whatever jobs I could get. One of which was a job at a grocery store in Stockholm (another city), which meant I had to commute 1.5hrs to and 1.5hrs back from work everyday. Just to stock shelves all day. I was making $1.5k p/m after tax, living with my mom. Saved every penny and invested everything into eCom. I did this through various jobs across probably a 2 year period. I would wake up at 5AM, take the bus 5.30, train at 6 and at work by 7AM. Work from 7-4, train at 4.30, home by 6. Gym at 6.30-7.30, then dinner, shower & eCom for the rest of the night. I sacrificed everything, EVERYTHING. I have no idea what the insides of any of the night clubs or bars in Uppsala look like, and whenever I come back here it feels like I never even really 'lived' in the city. At 22 I just had enough of everything, nothing was working. I was slamming my head against the wall, and getting nowhere. I had tried dropshipping a bunch of products, I had tried sourcing my own products and starting a brand by buying stock... Nothing to show for it. I had $5k left in the bank with little to no hope left that anything would work in the near future, and needless to say I wasn't enjoying my life very much. So I just said "fuck it". I quit my job in Sweden and flew to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. My thought process was that if I could go someplace halfway across the globe, where I don't know anybody, lock myself in an airbnb and just apply for 100s of online jobs everyday. Then at least I'd be able to get a remote job and have some level of freedom to the point where I could get out from Uppsala, but still work in this industry so that I could learn from others and build my skillset along the way. My plan worked. That was almost 18 months ago now that I made that hail-mary decision. I ended up getting a job at Adcrate, where I learned a lot and worked for a year. And in August of this year I transitioned to work at DigitalRide as a Growth Strategist. None of my brands were ever successful, I think I had one store do $1k in revenue before that too came crashing down. I'm not some guru or super smart eCom genius who can snap his fingers and SKALE anything under the sun. Nor will I ever claim I can. I'm just a young and hungry hustler who has learnt, and still is learning everything from the trenches. Today I work with some of the smartest people in the industry, I get to see under the hood of some of the fastest growing brands in their respective markets. And I'm learning faster than ever before. I still don't run my own brand, but that is very much the goal. All I want to do with my career is to build things with cool and smart people. It feels like I've learnt more in the past 4 months at DR than I did the first 2 years of me trying to figure shit out on my own. So I'm hopping on here to connect with people smarter and better than me so I can continue to increase my rate of learning. I'll only post if I think it's going to be helpful (or funny). I'm André, nice to meet you :) MERRY CHRISTMAS

Scaled a client from 1k/d to 50k profit within 45 days and he refuse to pay me for mediabuying. Later I found out they are scamming multiple people and are known for such activities. Ungrateful people who should not be allowed to make business again.

@HireFireTeam @thedanielokon I think this is exactly what Brian was referring to when he said "ecom bros crushing the old dawgs who haven't caught up with what is working yet", but yes.

Imagine trying to dunk on one of the legendary marketers in the space and feeling good about it. Think about an insane amount of daily spend, then 10x it. That's probably how much David manages/oversees. Master marketer.
Brian Ng@briannjho

Only the killers are still doing well. Don't see any of my ad accounts having down turns. Too many ecom bros making AI doctor ads, AI UGC and crushing the old ecom dawgs that haven't really caught on with what is working with creatives and landers 🤣 they're still making hi-fi bof ads, basic offer statics and screenshots of customer reviews in 2026. R.I.P

Quick PSA for anyone looking to buy a course or coaching program: In order to make a lot of money with X skill, you have to be really fucking good at it. And becoming really good at something takes a long ass time. This comes from someone who's very much a product of the online information space. I love courses, content and coaching. But getting good takes years. I managed $6m in profitable Meta spend in Q1, yet there's still no lambo in sight.

Re-downloaded Instagram as I wanted to start posting there and am astonished with the sheer amount of goyslop on that platform. Minimum 2 standard deviations of IQ differential between IG and X. We forget how good of a filtering mechanism being able to read is.

What do you do while taking a shit? I am now to the point where I read books instead of scrolling on my phone. I uninstalled IG from my phone but I still find myself checking it at least once per day on my computer. As soon as I enter it in my browser and I'm there for 2 seconds I think to myself "wtf am I doing here" - and I click off. Same thing with X, LinkedIn or any other social media platform. Unless I'm posting something, I just find it useless. But somehow my body is still wired to check it everyday. My brain is definitely cooked from owning a smartphone since I was 14 but at the same time I think social media might be cooked too. YouTube is the only useful resource I would say. But even then I don't use it for more than 30mins per day.

It's almost NEVER the ad account. This brand was cooked before coming to the Buffalos. Now it's thriving, has a winning offer and will hit $30-50M in the next 12 months PROFITABLY. Before you can get a brand to $50k+ day of spend your offer and CLTV needs to be able to support it.
