The new guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics are devastating, harmful, and WILL lead to more eating disorders. And trust me, my colleagues and I have no need for more clients. 💔

Wanted to start 2023 not being disappointed by the state of the world but I guess that dream is dead 9 days in.

Is this really what we have come to that fear mongering around fatness has led to the medicalization of something that at its core requires requires a way more nuanced approach than drugs/surgery. But hey, therapy is expensive, so I guess we should just give up on offering it?

How on EARTH did these guidelines get published without A SINGLE PSYCHOLOGIST listed as part of the authorship team? Shame on the American Academy of Pediatrics, and don't even get me started on the recommendations themselves. publications.aap.org/pediatrics/art…
