@AnaJ000000000 @Criticalsri1 @drgrinaldi @JAMAInternalMed It's retrospective so there's risk of bias, but the study showed that IV treatment raised risk of death by 25-153% So we may need a mindset change, the BP is less risky than the treatment

@JAMAInternalMed Perhaps. I completely agree more evidence is needed. But I’d feel uncomfortable leaving my patient with BP195/100 if no end organ damage found yet. I’m very open to be educated if I’ve misinterpreted completely! The way their conclusion is phrased as “do not support” is strong.

@DrSelvarajah Agreed we don't pay docs enough but those analogy is a bit off. Plumbers are self employed and often run a business so have business overheads and employees to pay. Docs get a wage for their work, admittedly poor, but don't have those overheads.
