@drhpd @YouTube This is a shot in the dark, but are you the Derek Hill listed as writing a planned film called 'Alabaster' back in 2003 or so. I saw a website for that movie when I was in college and it looked amazing, then never came out and has haunted me since then. What ever happened to it?

For those who are calling the former President’s indictment unfair: what is a nation to do if one man goes so far to trounce its laws and customs ? Perhaps we should turn a blind eye to it and let it pass. Have him run again for high office even though he premeditated an insurrection at our Capitol and coerced officials in Georgia to change an election outcome. Perhaps we should do that so his supporters don’t cry foul play and banana republic. I am reminded of what Ted Kennedy said over a decade ago about Gerald Ford. He acknowledged that Ford was right in pardoning Nixon. In September of 1974 Kennedy felt differently and excoriated Ford for the act. Senator Kennedy understood with hindsight it was better for the sanctity of the Republic not to trial its former President. But this situation is different, we have a man now that disgraces our Constitution and disrespects the institution of the Presidency, our democracy and our values as people. He is patently unlawful and yet seeks high office again to do further damage to the Republic. If you are a true patriot you will understand that these actions can’t stand and the denouncement of his indictment is short term and expedient politics. True leadership requires understanding what is at stake and how dangerous this man is to our way of life. Elected Republicans would serve their party and country better by excoriating this type of behavior and putting up men and women for office that reflect the beautiful colorful mosaic of the American people. Candidates that offer vision and guidance for a renewal and for a more aspirational America. We can do better than this and we will. I ask you to carefully consider the former President’s alleged crimes, and his bold face/prima facie actions. Let’s give him his fair day in court. True leadership requires speaking truth against the cabal and praying for the better angels of our nature to guide us to doing the right thing. 🇺🇸
