@dieworkwear Am I seeing the whiskey in a crystal decanter AND the bottle sitting next to it? That's noy how you do it. The decanter is meant for anesthetics and that you don't need to show off the label.

the aesthetics are incredible. cigars and crystal decanter with japanese whisky. black dress shirt, tight suit, two-toned double monks, and tie bar. arne jacobsen egg chair teamed with a studio backdrop with a car inexplicably inside the room. a 12 yr old's idea of masculinity

Last year, Donald Trump Jr. invested in a rare earths startup at a $200 million valuation. Then three months later, the US government announced a huge loan backstop for the company and now it's worth around $2 billion. bloomberg.com/news/features/…

@ProjectLincoln The productive miles will get passed through as fuel surcharge. The issue is with the spotty demand, truckers are running a lot of empty miles to chase freight. That's going to kill them.

@TheStalwart That and tbe supporting talent level building their datacenters and supporting infrastructure is not as good. For years they treated that part of the business as "not rocket science". Now those B players are in Sr positions hiring C players.

I saw a tweet earlier (can’t find it now) which hypothesized that Meta will never catch up to the top AI labs at this point, because every day it’s falling further behind in accumulated usage data. What’s the consensus on that. Could that be decisive/a moat?

@twgurl54 @jo_rouston The police officers at this DMV were there to PROTECT THE ILLEGAL ALIENS and when I asked a question, they told me to move on or I'd get "removed".... I don't even think we have ICE in Maine!

I had to renew my driver's license and went to my local DMV (Department of Motor Vehicle). My husband's was expiring, too, so he was with me. When we tried to find a parking space, we realized it was packed. We finally parked and walked inside. Maine State Police were standing at the door. There had to be 400 illegal aliens in there. Crying babies, women in hijabs, and lots of foreign men. For the first time in my life, I was one of the only white people in the room. Governor Janet Mills is responsible for this. She told the DMV to give drivers licenses to all of these illegal aliens. And, I know why she did this -- so they can vote.

The Steelers are hosting two wide receivers for pre-draft visits today at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex: Cincinnati's Jeff Caldwell and Kentucky's Kendrick Law. Caldwell isn't highly ranked on a lot of draft board (No. 181 on Pro Football Focus), but he's a big body at 6-5 and 216 pounds, but he also ran a blazing 4.31 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. In fact, he scored a perfect 10 on his Relative Athletic Score (RAS), recording a 42-inch vertical and 11-foot-2 broad jump. He's raw, but the physical traits are off the charts. Law is on the smaller side at 5-11 and 203 pounds, but he ran a very solid 4.45 in the 40-yard dash, recorded a 42-inch vertical and 10-foot-8 broad jump. His RAS score was an impressive 9.45, one of the highest in this year's class. Law is also ranked low on draft boards (No. 218 on PFF). The Steelers met with a lot of wide receivers at the NFL Combine, especially those near the top of the class. These visits represent a deeper look at the position, further indicating that there's a great chance not just one but multiple wide receivers could be selected in the draft. -- From Chris Halicke on the South Side

Any time you go to a college town, there’s always a place that everyone says you have to go to. You kind of end up basing your opinion of the town on how cool that place is. The Dark Horse was an ELITE representative of Boulder on that scale. The perfect combination of a college bar, a dive bar and a sports bar. Quirky, yet warm. Divey, yet comfortable. Quintessentially Boulder. Without it, we have don’t THAT place anymore and quite frankly, it’s fucking bullshit. Goodbye, old friend 🫡

Had a parent-teacher conference this morning My wife told me not to come I came anyway She said "please just listen and nod" I said "I always listen" She said "you listen like you're sitting in a boardroom looking for something to challenge" That's how listening works Nice classroom Small chairs I am 6'4" and was seated at a desk designed for someone who still believes in Santa Claus My knees touched my chest The teacher introduced herself Shared her identified pronouns I shared my identified adjectives Smart and handsome My wife closed her eyes The teacher had a folder Color-coded tabs I respected the organization She said our son is "a pleasure to have in class" My wife smiled I waited That sentence is never the whole report It's the executive summary before the risk section She said "however" There it is She said he "asks a lot of questions" I said "good" She said "during quiet time" I said "when is quiet time?" She said "it's when students are expected to work independently and in silence" I said "so he's the only one trying to get information and you've structured the environment to prevent it?" My wife put her hand on my arm I continued The teacher said he recently told another student that "sharing pencils doesn't make sense if nobody brings their own" I said "that's an accurate observation" My wife squeezed harder The teacher said she's concerned about his "resistance to group activities" I said "he's not resistant. He just doesn't see the value of doing more work for the same grade." The teacher said he also corrected her math on the whiteboard I said "was he right?" She paused She said "that's not the point" I said "it's a little bit the point" My wife stood up Sat back down Compromise The teacher pulled out an evaluation sheet Categories like "works well with others" and "follows directions" and "respects classroom norms" All subjective Not a number on the page I asked how these are graded She said "based on observation" I said "so one person's opinion with no second review?" She said "it's professional judgment" I said "my auditors say that too. Right before I disagree with them." She looked at my wife My wife said "I'm sorry about him" I said "I'm sitting right here" My wife said "I know" The teacher said overall he's a bright kid and she just wants to make sure he learns to "collaborate" I said "collaboration is important. But so is recognizing when you're the only one doing the work. He'll learn that again in college. And again in the real world. Might as well start now." Nobody spoke The teacher closed her folder She said "I think we've covered everything" I said "one more thing" She braced herself I said "his reading is above grade level. His math is strong. He asks hard questions and corrects mistakes when he sees them. I just want to make sure this school knows what it has." The teacher looked at me differently My wife looked at me differently I said "that's all" We left In the car my wife was quiet Then she said "he's turning into you" I said "is that a good thing?" She didn't answer From the backseat he said "dad, why does the teacher count off for asking questions? Isn't that the whole point of school?" I looked at my wife She looked out the window I said "yes. It is." He said "I don't think she likes when I'm right" I didn't say anything Neither did my wife Small chairs Color-coded tabs No follow-up items But the kid's going to be fine Sent from my iPhone

Rest in Peace, Lieutenant Colonel Brandon Shah 🇺🇸 Lt. Col. Shah was shot and killed during a terror attack on the campus in Virginia this morning. The gunman, now identified as a convicted ISIS supporter released from prison early, was neutralized by a ROTC student armed with a knife before being able to continue on his rampage. Shah was a Professor of Military Science and was assigned as the leader of Old Dominion University’s ROTC program. He was also a veteran of several military operations, to include Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Atlantic Resolve. Sha received a Bachelor of Science from ODU in 2007, an MBA from the University of Georgia in 2018, and a MS in Engineering Management from the University of Kansas in 2019, according to the Old Dominion University Alumni Association. Two other people were wounded in the attack, although their condition remains unknown. 🙏🇺🇸 h/t @greg_price11

A lady in the store I stopped by this morning made a whole scene about not being able to use her SNAP benefits for soda and candy anymore - then, she launched into a lecture about how it’s “discrimination” to not let people buy what they want - and then proceeded to tell the cashier how those who are on SNAP are the ones keeping the economy going…. She walked out with her bags of groceries that cost her a grand total of ZERO dollars…and drove away in her BRAND NEW JEEP… In short - she is in there using MY tax dollars to buy all of her food and crap - is wholly ungrateful for any of it - and then drives off in a car that is nicer than mine. My fatigue, my rage…is at an all time high. I am fucking fuming. And all I feel like I can do is go back to work and keep paying my taxes and scream into the void about it. The entire system is broken - every single piece and part is beyond repair. It’s such a demoralizing way to feel every day. Anyway, I hate her…and everyone like her…with the fire of a thousand suns. Ok, rant over

@maxwelltani Not even the best in Manhattan. Hudson and East River are better (notwithstanding that the East Side is torn up right now). Central Park is great but pretty mid as a run, too many people, annoyingly hilly and the running routes sort of bypass the most cool/distinct parts of CP.

🚨🚨🚨 Sharia is not a religion, it is a way of life intent on conquering and dominating Western Civilization into submission so they can then destroy it. Don’t take my word for it, listen to a senior Muslim Brotherhood figure who has been BANNED from the U.S. due to his open support for jihad and Hamas. 👇 “Islam is not a religion, Islam is a way of life… Islam is the religion and the state… a full political system, economic system, judicial system… how to govern a state.” ➡️ When your enemies tell you who they are, believe them.
