@dtjcinema god sameeee like i haven’t seen a lot of films with this big of a runtime, last one might have been the batman i think, but to be able to have a slow paced and calm film be so entertaining and make you feel so invested… that’s a talent almost no one has but hamaguchi has it!!

all of a sudden (2026) was so fucking magical and healing like i can’t even process what i’ve just seen. such a calm film for the entire runtime of the film and yet you never get bored a single time and get pulled in right from the start. just fucking incredible.

i can’t stop thinking about all of the sudden (2026) this might be one of my favorite films i’ve ever seen in theaters. i’m amazed at how a film with a runtime of 3 hours and 16 minutes can feel immersive from beginning to end and make you feel so many emotions the entire time

There’s this hypnotic element in Hamaguchi’s films, the film somehow slowly lures into its world, and holds the interest throughout the film, irrespective of the weight of the events.
Easily one of the greatest filmmakers ever.
