@drlrst Let assume yg beriklan tau kalo platform ga ada data income subsribernya & subscription dianggap sinyal yg lemah utk mewakili spending yg luxury, kemungkinan yg beriklan ngejar awareness brand. Jadi, subscriber tau kalo mau liburan pake yg beriklan & ga spend more research time.

Kalau bayar langganan lebih murah, kita terekspos ke iklan. Kalau mau bayar lebih mahal, jadi bebas iklan. Tapi coba pikir ya, yang lebih mungkin beli-beli barang yg ada di iklan kan orang yg lebih mampu ya. Orang yg bayar murah krn gak ada uang lagi, gimana bs jadi spender?

@duc_of_nowhere aku paham kalau misal dia minta kita bayar lebih mahal utk dapat layanan bebas iklan, dan dia gak peduli apakah akan terkonversi jadi spenders. cuma dari pihak bisnis yg beriklannya itu lho. kalau aku jadi marketer dr pihak ketiga, masa iklanin resort berlibur ke orang miskin :))

@drlrst Mungkin mereka yg bisnisnya mahal aja yg bisa beriklan, Kak. Kalo pake kerangka multi-sided market, iklan tetep harus dibayar attention span. Korbannya adalah mereka yg ga sanggup bayar jasa premium termahal. Platform emang ga urusan mereka terkonversi jadi pembeli.

Segala diiklanin trip ke Hokkaido atau Paris.... bayar Netflix aja gw cuma mampu yg paling murah bjir.

Ini gw bayar langganan paling murah, terekspos ke iklan resort lah, konstruksi rumah apalah... pun kalau gw pengen ya gw gak mampu belinya. Sementara yg mampu beli kan orang2 yg bayar langganan aja bukan yg paling murah. Something to ponder ya kalian para marketers 😤

The golden years of AirBNB were a temporary arbitrage on depreciation. There was a universe of beautiful well-maintained properties and hosts that had not been worn down by short term guests. And the AirBNB hosts didn’t properly estimate the cost of depreciation to maintain that standard, so costs were irrationally low That era fundamentally cant return, it was a temporary arbitrage opportunity There was once a supply of fairly pristine unused space and now there’s not If a space does manage to hit the 2014 standard, it must charge a lot more to fight depreciation And at that point a hotel is generally better
