@ozvascdoc Sadly, it is broadly perceived that charging a “gap” for such services is going to the “Dark-side”. Your astutely illustrative case suggests that the current system is unsustainable. In QLD the public system your time would be remunerated perhaps 10x the Medicare rebate funding.

Doing the right thing for our patients, fairly allocating precious healthcare resources, choosing not to chase profit in a market-driven healthcare system is a conscious effort doctors exercise every day of their working lives. It’s just #WhatDoctorsDo. Don’t take it for granted.
