China’s Chang’e 4 lunar mission found that Earth’s magnetic field reduces cosmic radiation as far away as the Moon for several days each month. (Those will be the days for lunar hotel guests to go outside and walk on the Moon!) Link in the reply…1/2

The latest #Artemis update makes something clear: we are no longer preparing for brief visits to the Moon, we are building the systems that will allow us to live and work there. This is an extraordinary moment. The shift toward sustained presence, repeatable missions and lunar infrastructure reflects a new phase of human activity beyond Earth. We’re not just going back. We’re beginning to stay. At For All Moonkind, we celebrate this progress. It represents the kind of long-term commitment that will shape not only what we do on the Moon, but how we do it. And as we take these next steps, it’s worth remembering something simple. We are not arriving on an untouched world. We are following in the footsteps — quite literally — of those who came before us. The Apollo sites, the artifacts, the bootprints are not just American history. They are human history. The good news is that we already have a foundation for protecting that history. The #ArtemisAccords recognize the importance of preserving outer space heritage, including these sites and artifacts. As we move from exploration to sustained presence, that commitment becomes more important, not less. Progress and preservation are not in tension. They go hand in hand. We can build the future on the Moon. And still protect the first steps that got us there. Thank you @NASAArtemis @NASAMoonBase @NASAAdmin! #ProtectTheBootprints #WeAreGoing nasa.gov/news-release/n…

The secret plan is out! Two great articles today about our plan to capture a small asteroid and bring it into Earth orbit. The concept is part of our New Moon mission, which explores relocating a small near-Earth asteroid into a controlled orbit as the first step toward building industrial infrastructure in space. Our team has been developing the key technologies for this approach for years, including capture mechanisms to constrain and move small asteroids and orbital debris. Accessing materials already in space could eventually enable a new generation of industries beyond Earth.
