Good morning, friends and happy Saturday! I hope you have a wonderful day. Yesterday was challenging, but I made it through. I had a good talk with my sponsor while I was baking cookies and grabbed an extra meeting while Noah was napping. Uncomfortable feelings are going to happen, particularly after drinking dreams, but I don't have to be alone with them. I'll be waking my guys up soon and then we're off to Disney for a magical weekend! Today is day 142 and I love you all! 💙

People talk about jet lag this & jet lag that, but in the last 9 days I took 2 flights to Brussels & slept in a glorified tent at a 3-day music festival & then flew to Vienna to spend time with 4 different friends for 3 more days & then took 3 more flights back to PA including 23 hours in airports (only 2 of them asleep) and a 9-hour red-eye flight (only 1 of them asleep) & then I went to bed at 1am last night after a 39-hour travel day & you know when I woke up this morning, bright-eyed & bushy-tailed? 6:09am. In conclusion, I am an adrenaline & joy machine.

@justin_hikes I make a great chicken stew, and that looks wonderful too! Wish I could add spinach to mine, but that’s the best way to keep everyone else in the family from eating it 😂

Gave up on recipes and just make pottage like a medieval peasant now.

@Parkeology I love the early buildings, each a different geometric design. It was quite the architecture display. As far as other parks, I think Celestial Park at Epic looks stunning, which is amazing since it isn’t based on IP. It’s just cool design and architecture. For beauty’s sake.

Early EPCOT really showcased its architecture; inside or out, Spaceship Earth has to be one of the most beautiful buildings to have ever been put into a theme park. Does anything else even come close? We are not talking well-themed, we mean beautifully designed.

The birthday boy loved his dinner! We had filet mignon with creamy peppercorn ssuce, pan-seared salmon, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and cheddar bay-style biscuits. 😋

@JeremyWingert79 Typing class from 1986 wins out most of the dang time. Period space space shift capital It’s VERY hard to overcome. And typing on an iPhone will give you a period if you type space twice, which reinforces it.

If you were typing a document that didn't need to be professional, just a personal letter or perhaps a journal entry, how many spaces would you choose to put between each sentence?

Odd take. That’s like traveling coach & complaining that first class passengers are raising prices. They’re actually making your ticket cheaper. Take it to the extreme. If you were the only person at disneyworld you’d have to pay millions in admission to cover the operating costs. Instead 150,000 guests pay so you can pay $150. I’m glad for those who pay for lightning lanes, extra hour events, VIP tours, character dining etc., subsidizing my cheap Florida resident AP. And your comment that it’s “for the kids”? Walt literally came up with it at a kids-oriented amusement park sitting on a bench watching his kids ride a carousel. He wanted something for the whole family, that adults could enjoy too. They have Broadway style shows, live music, fancy food, art, romantic restaurants, fancy hotels, golf courses, marathons, museum displays, etc.

Among my hottest takes are: - Disney adults (esp with no kids) are ruining it for families by inflating the cost of everything. - Disney adults should seek therapy to deal with childhood issues, not more trips to Disneyland. - Disney should not cater to Disney adults. It’s for families. It’s for the kids.

@drmickey71 I love this, Marcus! Hiking with your kids is pure delight. Glad to hear you make it a priority. I love different spots on the Appalachian Trail, all within 10-60 minutes of our house. We often get waylaid because they start playing on boulders or in a creek. I just roll with it.
