This weekend my mom said she no longer recognized me as the woman she raised me to be. That’s probably true - I speak in church now and eschew patriarchy. Praying last night & lamenting God told me I’m becoming the daughter He raised me up to be. And that is no small thing.

@mrvansmith I can’t believe he’s mainstream now. He was so out there and NPC back in the day. Why is anyone still talking to him at all?

@AngEngland Your right about that. He's an abomination. He bastardizes the Bible for his own personal gain monetarily. He doesn't give a shit what it actually says. Grifting in the name of the Lord.

@JaneLebak It was recommended in this book which is more of an overarching plot experience book for writers. Interesting for those writing fiction.

Reading about story archetypes and here’s one of mine. If you can imagine being this (and ENFP) in a highly authoritative, oldest of 8, ATI family you’ll realize why sometimes my trauma responses make a whole second personality. 😂

@realumutturan @hell_line0 No. Many times a D&C can be a surgical procedure that removes the remains of a pregnancy that has already terminated itself. By choosing such a limited definition wonen can be prevented from life saving care as evidenced by fear based medicine in Texas increasing deaths.

When someone tries to make a distinction between miscarriage and abortion, it's often a misguided attempt to soften the blow of a personal experience. Words can be a powerful tool for healing, but let's not sacrifice truth for the sake of euphemism. The language we use to describe our experiences can influence how we perceive them, but medical categorizations exist for a reason. A D&C is still a surgical procedure that terminates a pregnancy, regardless of the circumstances. In our desire to be kind and compassionate, let's not erase the harsh realities of what's happening. There's a fine line between being honest about our pain and being brutal about the facts – one is healing, the other is just hurtful. It's not about taking away someone's narrative or feelings, but about acknowledging the reality of what's happening.

I'm puzzled by women...she said... "My miscarriage wasn't an abortion, that was NATURE." My good gals, those are medically deemed spontaneous abortions. "Mine wasn't an abortion, I had a D&C after my miscarriage." Yep, still medically categorized as an abortion. I get it, it might emotionally be different for you, but legally and medically, you're the same as someone who wasn't ready for motherhood. And that's why banning abortion is killing women.

@AngEngland That's what I use!!! I love mine. I carry all my folders for my projects and my computer in it. It's perfect. And the canvas takes the punishment. I've had mine for eight years.

Vivian said she needs a canvas messenger bag. I didn’t know these were a thing again. Fun.

She wants to dress “goblin core”. Which as far as I can tell is basically hippie boho in olive green.

He said “It always is” and that was that. Brianna said it’s weird that a total stranger felt it appropriate to comment on her body so forcefully. I said that happens all the time and isn’t weird, although it’s not right. I said the saddest part is that it was another woman.

By her knappy matted hair when they first met before she learned how to take care of her hair with protective styles. He goes “Girl your skin might be white as a freckled vampire but your hair ain’t.” Then he said “Let me guess - nosy old white lady?” Bri said “yep”

On the way to camp Brianna got stopped by a Karen in Walmart who scolded her for her box braids ranting about cultural appropriation. She asked one of her fellow counselors, a man of color, if he was bothered by her braids. He laughed and said he was more bothered …

@JaneLebak This one. It was super cheap on Amazon used and was recommended in another book I was given to me (I can’t remember the title of that one). I like the summary of personality types. Good brainstorming fodder.

@drmickey71 There’s a great deal I do now I would have been whipped for as a teen. Even just wearing bright colored lipstick or speaking at a Wednesday night service. Changing my mind about a project I started halfway through. Simple things I take for granted now.

@AngEngland That book seems horrible. Is that a Gothard book? I was raised VERY conservative, but even my conservative SBC dad thought Gothard went too far.

@drmickey71 It’s an archetype book for writers talking about standard tropes and personality types. Most stories, the characters fall within set archetypes or roles. Lots of different takes on the subject but it struck me how much more I’m free to express myself now then when I was a kid

I like how my kids think if they leave two little pieces of chocolates in my secret stash I won’t notice that they ate ALL THE REST OF MY STASH!! I have a friend who keeps her emergency chocolates in an empty tampon box and now I know why.
