Diagnosed with epilepsy at 4, I had absence seizures that got worse. After 7 years of medication that didn’t work, the ketogenic diet helped me stay seizure-free for 4.5 years! Overcoming the stigma and educating people about epilepsy has been a huge part of my journey.

A little note to remind everybody that Christmas is very hard for some people. As an alcoholic of 25 years (nearly 4 sober now) as well as severe anxiety / depression sufferer here are some little things that might help understand friends / family suffering (1/8) 🧵

Imagine having seizures every day despite trying every available treatment. Now imagine finding a medication that works – only to learn it’s out of reach due to cost. This is the reality for many Canadians with epilepsy. We’re calling for provincial coverage of #Xcopri.
