大きいお椀の縁に箸をかけるかどうかは、ケースバイケースかなと思います。 前提として、箸置きがなく、箸袋もない場合に「低い皿の縁に箸を立てかける」のは、一般的なマナーとして“やむを得ない範囲の対応”とされています。 できるだけ低い皿の縁に置き、箸の先が料理に触れないようにするのがおすすめです。 ただし、他の人の前のスペースや料理の並びを乱すように、お皿を大きく動かしてまで“箸置き代わりの皿”を用意するのは逆に失礼なので、その点はケースバイケースですね。 一緒にお食事をする相手に不快感を与えないことがマナーの第一義というのは、日本もアメリカも変わりませんよね？ ですから、私が言っていることは難しく思ったり、日本人って面倒くさいなって思うかもしれませんが、根本はあなたの国と私の国は何も変わらないということです。 peace✌️

@noir_nero2025 @BReviewez Thank you for the thorough answer. I only ask to avoid embarrassing myself. I once travelled to Shanghai for business and left my chopsticks down in the bowl. It was explained to me that placing them across the top of the bowl was ok. I am questioning this advice now.

@drmtsu @BReviewez 一般的なお店では箸袋という紙製の箸が入っているものがあるので、それを折りたたんで箸置きの代わりにします。 箸袋もない時は小さい皿の縁に添えるように置きます。 渡して箸はお椀の端から端を使って箸を置くのがマナー違反なので渡さないようにすればOKです

@noir_nero2025 @BReviewez Good to know, I always thought leaving chopsticks down in the bowl was bad manners and across the top was ok. So what is considered proper when you do t have chopstick holders?

@Yorick_Tarlton @KulasanM I have done many 12+ hour cooks on my egg with no problem. The smobot temperature controller adjusts the air flow automatically while I am sleeping

The big difference is in what you are making, and cook time. Webber style/ big green egg's are perfect for grilling, and some smoking but when you are looking at a 6hr smoke time or more that's why we have the side box for smoke generation and use the grill part for ambient heat and smoke saturation.

@KulasanM There is really no wrong answer, in my opinion. Each has their own advantages and disadvantages. I think in your situation you should first consider what constraints you may have. What type of fuel source is readily available in your area. Lump charcoal, pellets, hardwood.
