Dairy farming at sight farm shows that profitable farming comes down to good practices-proper feeding, hygiene, and management. With the right knowledge and consistency, dairy can be a steady daily income for farmers.

A church in a dubious land acquisition, a parliamentary committee recommends cancellation of the deal, fast forward same church in a tussle with a public hospital, more specifically a national heart institute which needs land for an access road....same church wants compensation for same dubiously acquired land.. That, folks is Christianity in 2026..

They’re lumping Congo and Uganda into one and saying we’ve had 300 cases and 88 deaths. 🤦🏾‍♂️ Epidemic reporting really needs to change.

Let me get this straight: this Ebola is from Congo. They’ve lost more than 10 people, including their citizen who was discovered in Bundibugyo by Uganda’s vigilant anti-epidemic teams but now they’re naming the virus after a Ugandan place, putting a negative tag on Uganda?

@drmutaawe That’s exactly the point though. If co-funding was too high for most smallholders then the design already excluded the very farmers it was meant to serve.😢

As a farmer, this one hurts. Irrigation schemes were introduced to help us but most smallholder farmers are still struggling like nothing changed😒 We are working day and night yet the support systems don’t reach us. That’s not just a gap-that’s a failure.😞

@SandraNabasirye The whole agriculture chain in developing countries is difficult...without meaningful subsidies from govt..commercial agriculture remains a distant dream!

@SandraNabasirye A long story..it was more of a personal effort.. the cost of co-funding was quite high. Many just refused to co-fund all together!

@drmutaawe That’s good to hear but when a program only benefits a few while many are left out, then there’s still a bigger issue to address.

“Her editorial philosophy was rooted in the belief that journalism about do more than report events” Respectfully, Mr @ekiggundu and your journalist friends need to pump the brakes with this effusive praise of the outgoing editor at @newvisionwire. Some of us buy newspapers daily and we actually read them. New Vision is the worst paper you can read. At least it’s the worst of the major English language regional papers. In Uganda, it’s fallen back so bad and the gulf between them and their peers-especially the Namuwongo crew-is too huge, it’s like day and night. If indeed Ms @BarbaraKaija has been editorially responsible for this decline, let’s have the true record reflect that instead of glossing over such facts just to praise a fellow industry player. If her editorial policy is as you say it is, I’m sure she’ll appreciate the honesty. The New Vision is now nothing more than a glorified government catalogue, hawking already taken tenders and championing launches of poorly done back-channel roads and school toilets. Hardly anything to write home about.

Barbara Kaija was a trailblazing editor at Vision Group who never hesitated to use an iron fist when the situation demanded. Her editorial philosophy was rooted in the belief that journalism should do more than report events. @BbegMedia l1nq.com/2t2dslu

@kals2011 @BOU_Official A good one..unfortunately most people if not all have swept everything under the cut failing to understand the risk of foreign interference...the AG should become smarter and define the key terms very well

Thread: Limited extension services hurting farmers. I came across a farmer with this problem (see photo📸). He didn't know the closest govt extension service provider. He mainly relied on agroinput shops who advised him to use fungicides & pesticides. There was no change.

One of the most painful things in medical practice is this: you know the patient’s problem. You know how to solve them, but you cannot because of the challenges we all know. To crown it all, the patient cannot afford to go where you want them to go and access those services. This is the reason I’m thinking about starting a foundation, a Gladys Foundation that will be patient centered, enabling poor patients access services they can’t afford. That’s the dream for now. Let me keep dreaming and modifying and polishing . Don’t discourage me.

From my experience, I told him his coffee had boron & zinc deficiency (note: I'm not an agronomist, but knowledgeable & experienced farmer). I recommended products to use. He called me yesterday thanking me for saving his coffee!
