A year ago today, I had 312 followers. I’ve been on this app since 2009, this account since 2012. Never suspended. Took a lot of breaks. I rarely share my thoughts about X or the algo publicly. Here’s why, plus three points of advice I’ve learned. Take them for what they’re worth. 1) Most people on this app don’t care about making money. They just want to see content. Some of my best conversations happen in comments and DMs with regular people, most without a blue checkmark. Stop obsessing over payouts—most don’t care. 2) Life’s too short not to be original. I share content, stories, bodycams, personal interests, and smart-ass comments because I want to. I’m lucky some people enjoy the same things. I also love editing bodycams to make them funny, engaging, or interesting. 3) Someone said to grow on X, you must be popular. I’ve thought about that for a week. It’s true. So focus on solving that instead of complaining. Open complaining only gets you so far. Honorable mention (probably most important): I am a truther, I make mistakes, but I felt like there was a need to deliver the actual non-bias truth on stories. Most content here is either resurfaced. If you’ve made it this far, I didn’t expect anyone to actually make it this far. From the bottom of my heart, thanks.
