1/ A few months ago, I shared here on this same platform the news of pausing my research career after leaving academia in pursuit of a better work-life balance as a computer scientist in the public sector. I concluded that post with these words:

My passion for research remains, and you never know where you will end up. However, the new role offers greater stability (it's a permanent position for life) and much better work-life balance, allowing me more time to spend with my loved ones.
