you make a lot of great points here but you're also ignoring zeihans key points on american agriculture and serious demographic decline in china - one that can't be staved off by robotics american agriculture - zeihan posits that america is in a unique geographic region due to having the most farm friendly land in the midwest. our geography also makes it nearly impossible to be taken over by invasion. i certainly dont think we're currently taking advantage of our geography, but i dont understand why we're acting as if this door is closed forever. demographic decline in china - as the chart suggests, china is nearly entering the fabled nanny state. where the elderly are incapable of work and a large swath of the country has to reorient towards elder care. how is their population chart sustainable? robotics - your argument regarding robotics doesnt track if its going to displace workers in the largest low skill labor force in the world. if young labor is being replaced with robots and they're forced to take care of their elders - what happens to their web of dominance? zeihan typically hammers down on demography but im not sure your counter argument holds weight here
