I hate having a president who celebrates when people die. Basic respect and human decency are still worth caring about, even if a large number of people have decided that’s lame and old-fashioned. I hope we recover that before long.

For many people asking if such strikes would be considered a war crime, it depends. If strikes were carried out on power plants just because they are power plants and those plants were utilized by civilians, then yes it is a war crime, however, if there is a distinction made and strikes are only carried out on plants supporting military actions, then no it technically is not. Though President Trump does not appear to make a distinction between civilian or military power plants in this post on Truth Social.

When Charlie Kirk was murdered, those of us on the conservative side rightly chastised those of our political adversaries who cheered and celebrated his death. We accused them--again rightly--of shameful callousness and of polluting public discourse and coarsening social life. What President Trump does here merits the same chastisement, for the same reasons.

A very public and predictable display of disrespect, the likes of which should be intolerable for most Americans of their chief of state. Not everything has to be political and personal. We should demand better of our politicians, especially the president.

John Fetterman's had a 108 pt drop in his net approval with PA Dems since 2023. His net rating is -40 pt net approval with them. His net popularity with his own party is worse than all senators who lost a primary this century. There's no historical analog to his unpopularity.

They don’t seek out conflict, other than measures designed to protect them. OTOH, Hamas, Iran, Hezbollah, etc are committed to destroying Israel. It’s a pretty simple concept to understand.

@shaaaaaaaaaarks Nah, Smith is doing a lot of crossing the blue line, then passing backwards. Often gets intercepted and other team gets on the rush going the other way. He needs to start getting it deeper rather than always go for the flashy risky play. Works in college, not so much in NHL.

The trick for Warso is that Smith & Celebrini is actually a deadly combo. But when the line isn’t producing he’d rather blow up the line in order to keep Celebrini on the ice.
IMO, bench the whole line. They’ll hold themselves accountable. That isn’t happening right now.
