Remember Kadalan (humse hai muqabla) India has its own rich dance forms, but why did break-dance (Mithun, Javed Jaffrey etc) suddenly became so cool. Moreover I wouldn’t want my kids to read newspapers full of political news, crimes and accidents. Informative, editorial and educational articles mostly get published in the supplements on weekends (unfortunately they are filled with Page3 stuff these days). I would rather encourage them to read books.

How many schools have a well equipped library that can accommodate a hundred children at a time, subscribe all kannada and English newspapers? Not a single school library that I can recall in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. Let's not talk about the rest.
