Thanks @pathakvk @prabhatkhabar Amazed to see many oldies advocating for long duty hours for residents. But this is against 1992 rules and a punishable crime under BNS. They hide the fact that during long duty hours, most residents are assigned minimal work, no actual learning.

@RadioDoc_Khushi Seriously though, is this how we learn? Seniors getting roasted and us next? Sounds like the medical education system needs a serious overhaul. Frustrated oldies are taking it out on students isn't teaching, it's just toxic stress. Why not they behave normal?

@lagatarIN Such strikes, processions, slogans are not suitable for high professionals. Have you seen civil service officials or IIT, IIM people doing this? It's suitable for MGNREGA workers only. White collar ppl start 'work to rule' -that is not a strike, not punishable, and most powerful.

AIIMS Delhi follows duty hours as per residency scheme. So I think logically, anything beyond 48 hours a week overtime (double) is payable or must be compensated as week. Off. Dear resident doctors, please be aware that your duty hours is 48 hrs / week with a mandatory week. off

Imagine even after complaint to parliament about highest fees(upto 25 lacs) by Govt Institute for PG Courses and nothing happens!! 36 hrs, continues shifs, 130hrs/wk no weekly off, with pennies as salary of 42 K. We are forced to pay to provide service to the govt! New India?💔🇮🇳

GB Pant Delhi follows duty hours as per residency scheme. So resident’s duty hours is 48 hrs / week with a mandatory week off. HoD is the responsible person to monitor it and he can be legally prosecuted for violation in duty hours and fake duty roster (Refer: 1, 2 & 11)

Urgent Appeal for Student Welfare at AIIMS Madurai We are deeply concerned about the conditions faced by final-year medical students at AIIMS Madurai, who have been shifted to the permanent campus still surrounded by active construction. The campus lacks basic facilities and is continuously exposed to dust and noise 24×7, severely impacting their preparation for professional examinations. Additionally, students must undertake a 20 km daily commute for clinical postings in extreme heat. If they are forging the duty hours data and maintaining fake duty rosters, many HoDs are at risk of getting booked under section 337, 340 and 344 of BNS. Compelling for excessive work is also punishable u/s 146, BNS.
