Does distance lessen love, or does the absence of love create the distance?

It did not hurt at the end, because it had already been hurting for so long that the receptors are now numb to feel anything. She went searching for pieces of him within herself, but couldn’t find any. And that is when the reality of separation truly hit her.

And the only thing that made her stand could have been doubt— that still held half the probability of being proven wrong. Maybe that’s how we are prepared for many unexpected things in life.

Why did it not just break with the fall? Because it wasn’t a sudden hit. She hit the ground each day with the thought of separation.

We don’t really realize how and when the distance was created. But ask me— I have always foreseen it, long before it was visually appreciable. I have always, unfortunately, had the ability to pick the symptoms. So long before their departure, this heart had already prepared herself for the farewell.
