@druceleroy I’d love to be able to charge $36 # for brisket! I’m at $32 and realistically should be more. Money in bbq business made on pulled pork, chicken sausage, turkey, sides and drinks!

But, I’m the same guy who refuses to pay for tacos and sandwiches I can make at home.

You aren’t just paying for the beef (which is fucking insanely expensive lately), you’re paying for the man hours, the fuel & at quality places, the work put into it. There are tons of places you can go for cheap brisket

Eh… it’s still “poor people food” for those who actually know how to smoke their own. The saddest part is people don’t know how to make their own BBQ that they can enjoy.
I never spent a dime on retail BBQ until well into my 30s. Even then, I smoked my own more than anything.

The saddest part about BBQ is it used to be poor people food. Used cheap cuts and slow smoked them till tender. Today it is more expensive than a typical steakhouse, charging $36/lb for brisket. Worst thing to happen to BBQ ever is it became popular. Now get off my lawn
