We developed a cactus-based pellet using the invasive cactus species in Kenya in collaboration between University of Florida and JKUAT! The results of our feeding trial with goats are amazing! This will be a game changer for the local community!

It was insightful & enlightening experience at the 200Ha cactus farm of Mr. Gaetano in San Cono, Sicily. His biomass dryer has capacity of 50T of cactus cladodes monthly for pharmaceutical use. He produces 600T fresh cactus fruits annually. @dryGrow_Found @WinnieNyonje @tembeken

Did you know that Kenya is home to most of the major grass germplasm whose varieties support livestock production globally? Follow us as we unravel the role of spiny cactus in conserving forage biodiversity in rangelands to benefit future forage improvement @dubeux @2012Willis

Our relentless effort and unwavering support towards the sustainable management of the invasive cactus species in Laikipia, Kenya, continues to impact livelihoods. Today, we distributed manually operated choppers to process cactus, which we use as a feedstock to generate biogas

Happy to see our project in Kenya moving forward. We have now 10 households using biodigesters to produce energy from a co-digestion of cactus and manure! Thanks Prof. Willis Owino from JKUAT for the collaboration and to dryGrow Foundation for the funding! ⁦@UF_IFAS

Getting set with the installation of biodigesters in Laikipia, Kenya. This is part of our project expansion aimed at sustainable management of the invasive cactus to produce biogas. The effluent will be used for kitchen gardening. Thanks to @dubeux @2012Willis #Sustainability
