Ricky Tiedemann Could be a Major Contributor for the #BlueJays in 2026 Tiedemann was shut down in late February with elbow soreness, but has since been cleared, and returned to throwing bullpens at the PDC in Dunedin in mid April, 2026. Barring further health setbacks, he could play a significant role in the Blue Jays' story in 2026. In January of 2024, Baseball America ranked Tiedemann the #1 lefty pitching prospect in all of baseball. Tiedemann was also the Jays No. 1 prospect in 2024, before Tommy John surgery cost him part of 2024 and all of 2025. He’s still just 23 years old, and through much of 2025 was in consideration for a possible return in September. Before the injury, Tiedemann sat in the mid-90s, reached 99 mph, and had electric secondary stuff - including a wipeout changeup. Early in spring training this year, there was much chatter about his physicality, leaner, sharper - firing on all cylinders. MLB Pipeline currently has Tiedemann with a 65-grade changeup and 65-grade fastball. By comparison, MLB Pipeline rates Trey Yesavage with grades of 60 for each of his fastball and splitter. #Bluejays 🤘⚾️🤘
