Iowa City City Council agreed by consensus at its work session today to authorize the city manager to approach Johnson County about partnering together to acquire one joint city police station/county jail. The rationale was the existing police station is in a flood plain.

DSM City Council voted down additional transitional housing units right before trying to ram through a bill to further criminalize homelessness.
