Yes, I’ve seen the Protestant sandwich video. And of course, I thought, he’s having a laugh. Yes, many things in Northern Ireland seem Protestant or Catholic. But sandwiches? Then he revealed the type of sandwich, and I had to take it all back. That is a very Protestant sandwich.

Book 100. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️A wonderful book to end the year. This account of the beatific vision from @samuel_parkison sets out a biblical case, draws on historical theology, and does some theological drawing together from an evangelical perspective. Fantastic!

This is absolutely astonishing from the Lord Brooke! Saying the quiet part out loud, he seems to class abortion, contraception, homosexuality & euthanasia together & praises them for reducing the population, in contrast to what would have happened “if the churches had their way”!

Is Lord Brooke, sitting one seat along from the sponsor of the Bill, advocating for assisted dying as a tool of population control? An extraordinary contribution suggesting human life be actively sacrificed to prevent climate change. This bill drives utilitarian thinking!

Yesterday, a couple from our church adopted the 8yr who has been living with them as their son for over a year. So much of our church showed up to support them that the judge said we'd broken the record for an adoption hearing. This is what church family looks like in action!

@KSPrior That bookstore is in Belfast, a 5 min walk from where C S Lewis was born, 5 mins the opposite direction to the church he was baptised by his grandfather, and owned by people passionate about books, but mostly about Jesus.

I was ‘close to suicide’ in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
The NHS is not in any way fit for purpose when it comes to mental health crises.
There is presently a SIX MONTH wait on the NHS for an initial appointment with a psychiatrist.
This is not a tenable way to run a dignified health service.
But the NHS is to be trusted to prematurely go out of their way to end lives, when they cannot even effectively assist those who are in life.

a) These are both excellent books.
b) This bookshop is in Dubai. I can only think of less than a handful of bookshops in the whole of the UK these days where it would ever be possible to find such a selection of serious Christian books.
