@harveyjberger @bradloncar Yes. I think those vaccines have been the most prescribed drug in history and so the idea that we don’t know it’s safety trial is very wrong. IMHO they should lean into what it’s accomplished.

@bradloncar I agree 100%, Brad. Memory is short, and the public’s views of mRNA technology has been eroded. This decision on the flu vaccine may become a landmark change point for the field with long-lasting impact.

I stand by this comment from last fall. Moderna and others need to take their messaging to the general public. There’s not going to much public outrage about yesterday’s flu news because there’s been no meaningful public education on mRNA by our industry.

This is a major story from #ASCO25. Randomized phase 3 trial of time of day of immunotherapy infusion. Randomized to infusion before or after 3pm. Early infusion far superior: PFS 11.3 vs 5.7 HR 0.42, OS HR 0.45! Impactful, pragmatic, not costly. This should be a bigger story.

$XBI MFN under Trump #1 didn’t work and see no reason why it would this time around. Price setting by fiat is not only un-American, it is not lawful. And here, republicans will not sit idly by — they have their constituencies to serve. Nothing will change unless serious PBM reform actually happens — as it is, it’s nebulous to even say what a drug’s “price” is — there are several prices, with “list” price often inflated so that big “rebates” can then be selectively offered, with PBMs raking in the margins on this paper pushing. Reform PBM policy so that we have a clear grasp of “drug prices”. That will save more to the U.S. taxpayer than this childish and churlish price cutting fever dream.
