@brenmidov As someone who lives in Winnipeg. It terrifies me that MSL is letting the 14/13 combo become completely inseparable in the way that Scheifele and Connor have been. If it’s not working you have to change it up a bit, even if they love playing together.
To be very clear, I love Marty as a coach, but he pretty much waited till the series was over to try something that he knows works well (Slaf and Demi) and taking this long to break up the top line is an absolute failure imo.
@GHGMath This is the ending they need. Can’t claim that they just needed a few more bounces. Getting dominated here show there’s is still serious work to do. KH and MSL need to get to work as soon as this is done.
@ivandemigoal The positive is this is showing them they still have some legitimate work to do with this roster to be a true contender. Solid learning experience for management, coaches and players but have to use it moving forward.
@EricMacramalla Slaf is supposed to be the big body to get in and retrieve the puck. If he isn’t going to do that the first line becomes way too dependent on rush offense.
Cole Caufield needs to be a tad more effective in offensive zone puck retrieval.
Habs needs Caufield arriving first more often, winning more 50/50 battles, and extending possessions.
Why are the Habs continuously so terrible with the puck in their zone? No strength on first passes. Afraid to ice it, so they're giving it away. Come on.
@fnveenie They don’t have the horses to keep up with Carolina and their style of play. They’re putting up a fight, it just won’t be enough unfortunately.
@fnveenie For a team that can barely enter the zone at the best of times on the PP, playing against a structured Carolina PK is kind of worst case scenario.
