@dchackethal @0xglitchbyte If you can't see that shipping software that is non-compliant with the laws of multiple US states would be an _existential threat_ to these free and open source project and their ability to receive commercial contributions, I don't know what to tell you.
English

@dchackethal @0xglitchbyte I'm rarely on X these days (and didn't really use it much before). I don't think that is contradictory. I can think these laws are incredibly stupid but also add a field to help Linux distributions meet the "letter of the law" by providing a way to store a self-reported birthday.

@SanketJha6 @Rajjath24 We can hope, but there is a dark side as well

@Rajjath24 Won’t AI make that possible? AI will do our job and people will read, live, enjoy small pleasures of life!

sometimes i wish jobs and work did not exist and that humans were free to just enjoy their existence on this planet.

@BrianRoemmele @CaseyHo46088134 Perhaps that is why they are trying to make CNCing and 3d printing illegal in some states in the USA ?
English

@CaseyHo46088134 Casey they don’t have a choice. I show you how. You rent a robot to build you a robot that you own. You than have that robot build robots. They can not stop you. It is over for the old economy. The only factor is time 8 years or 16 years or Flintstones first and than 2000 years.

@beffjezos Disagree. It is not optimal, but for most of us it is the only thing to run it on.
English

It makes no sense to run probabilistic software on deterministic digital computers

What opinion will get you in this position?

@RoundtableSpace Sounds like what I build to run Claude Code while skipping permissions within containers, called Daedalus:

Pewdiepie reveals how to break free from the algorithm
“A lot of this is going to sound crazy but you’ve gotta hear me out, it’s a step by step process. I’m not saying you should do all of it but you should try some of it”
“Step 1 is creating friction. I put all social media and attention hungry apps in a second profile and I can’t understate how much this changed my life. Those 5-6 seconds it takes to switch profiles stops me every time and makes me think, is this what I want to be doing?”
“The second thing I did was self hosting. The effect that had on me is I’m not the product anymore. The things I use are mine and because they’re not free, I’m not paying with my privacy. I think the main difference is ads and news don’t reach me”
“Next thing I did was disable Shorts, I like YouTube but I hate how Shorts is everywhere I can’t escape it”
“Then I unfollowed everyone. You don’t have to do this, this is definitely a me thing, I just got really fed up”
“Next, get a DNS blocker. You can remove ads completely, most of it won’t even reach your device”
“I think you owe it to yourself to take some time today and start building your tech fence”
“These tech companies don’t care about you, so you’ve got to care about yourself. The cheat code is building some friction and filtering out the noise, that’s your defence and your cure”
English

@molecularmusing In the end it is the product that I want to build what it is all about.
99% of the code is boring repetitive stuff and could be done by a monkey (LLM).
Sure there might be an interesting algorithm here and there, but those are rare.
