@robertntheo Thanks so much for your input. Yes, you're correct. We're on the Sussex coast so our house is 75% bungeroosh with all kinds of bits holding it together 😂 I work on a computer but my father was a trade so I have a lot of useful subconscious knowledge 🙏

#MartinLewis FTB on a home and we've been confronted by the presence of asbestos in an old build. Everything online points to doom, succumbing to the exorbitant costs to remove it. Any available relief for people living with uncontrolled hazardous materials in their homes?

@robertntheo There seems to be lots of legislations and reliefs in place for a lot of other living standard issues like damp, EPC performance, heating etc. nothing seems to be obviously available for asbestos. What is available seems to be privatised at an entry level with a high price tag.

@robertntheo Where I feel there is a gap is a centralised source of truth and guidance, instead of information on asbestos removal company sites that basically say that if you have asbestos in your home, you might die a terrible death.

@robertntheo Thank you for your response! My father had a construction business so I have a good optical sense of identifying materials such as AIB and asbestos composites but we are waiting on results from testing before we make any decisions.

Sho! Been a minute, ya'll. What'd I miss? Y'all miss me? Took a break for a month or so. I was busy with design work, life admin and family visiting. TBH, I was spending way too much time on here. Hopefully I'll be able to have a healthy, balanced consistency on here this year!
