A little more info re the grad change. Students would take 4 credits in one of the following. The provincial courses also statisfy other grad requirements in ELA/SS so this wouldn't mean reduction in # of electives unless students choose to take the requirement as an elective.

Did you know that the Foundation operates as centralized support system for Langley Schools and students, but is independent of the school district? Donors can direct their #donation to a specific school or program OR can direct us to support the Greatest Need.

Last official day at SBO for our amazing, retiring Director of Instruction, @DawneTomlinson It has been a joy and privilege working with you in @Curriculum35 for the past 3 years! You have left a remarkable legacy in @LangleySchools around learning and will be sorely missed!

Please remember social media is not broadcast. 13% of Canadians are on twitter and your YouTube and TikTok feeds are not for everybody — they’re made for you. You control what you say, not what you see. And what you see isn’t representative of 🇨🇦 as a whole. #protip

Freedom to Read Week starts today. Canadians enjoy Freedom of Expression which includes freedom to chose what we read. “Censorship does not protect society; it smothers creativity and precludes open debate of controversial issues.” #rtla38 #sd38learn @bctla

While journalists are speaking out about being attacked rn (I agree we need to speak out & it’s nice to see leaders supporting them/us), I’d like to remind people of what it’s like to be an Indigenous woman journalist, even months ago. Here is an example of the emails I get:

If your students do independent reading in the your classroom, what are you doing during that time? Are you conferring? Reading independently to model? Something different?

This is not how we do it, folks. @TashaSpillett’s work is important - she and her work should be in the classroom, without exception. Urging teachers and administrators to set an example and invite Tasha to your school. Kids need to hear and read her.
