They bury the Dad’s full quote at the end of the article. And they REALLY buried the lede. “Simmons recalled something his son had told him before volunteering for the mission that ended his life. “He said, ‘Dad, I can’t give you any details, but if civilians knew what we knew, a lot of the criticism [of the war] would cease,” he said. Simmons came away from Dover with a better impression of the war’s architects than he had when he arrived. Trump teared up and hugged him, evincing warmth and compassion at odds with the president’s public persona, Simmons said. He also credited Trump for looking him “straight in the eye.” “He extended his condolences father to father and conveyed how difficult it is to make decisions to put the children of other parents in peril,” Simmons said. As for Hegseth, “When I talked to him, I got the impression that he was torn because he seemed to be a very compassionate man, faced with difficult decisions as it pertains to war,” Simmons said. “I also let him know that Tyler was my only son. And you could see the emotion on his face. And I think those kinds of things you can’t fake,” he continued. “I was pleasantly surprised because the perception is they [Trump and Hegseth] don’t care, they’re going to do what they want to do,” he said. “I got to see a different side of them up close and personal.”

BREAKING NBC: Pete Hegseth says 'family after family' of service members killed urged the admin to "not stop until the job is done." But the father of one of those service members says he never said that. "I can't speak for the other families. When he spoke to me, that was not something we talked about." nbcnews.com/politics/donal…

Seve was Nike's first golf athlete and at the 1986 Masters they'd given him some shirts to wear but no headgear. Going into the final round Seve was tied for second place and both he and Nike wanted the benefit of the publicity that TV would provide. So, he bought a Masters visor, cut logos from two of his shirts and glued them over the Augusta logo.

🚨 NEW: Nick Shirley SLAMS Gavin Newsom: “The Governor of California is an enemy to the people of California. He’s literally working to support the fraudsters: he could be working to expose the fraud.” “How stupid do you have to be to say ‘let’s go after the guy exposing the fraud, let’s not go after the fraudsters’. That is what he’s doing. Why don’t you say ‘Hey Nick, great video - how can we help?’ “These tax dollars don’t say right or left on them, Republican or Democrat. Each tax dollar is a dollar for the American people. And when they go and steal these dollars from us, they are not robbing liberals or Democrats, they are robbing everyone. Then the Governor gets mad at the person exposing the fraud? How crazy do you have to be to think that logic?” adds @nickshirleyy

I suspect our entire almost 40 trillion dollar national debt is due to fraud. I actually suspect the amount stolen from us is way higher. We are being robbed blind and absolutely nothing is done about it

Sweet merciful internet gods… Robert’s TDS has gotten so bad he’s now laundering CCP propaganda. What an absolute clownshow....you’re out here gargling straight CCP propaganda sewage and acting like you just cracked the fuckin’ Pentagon Papers. The SAME laughable dipshit account that dropped the brain-dead “China cracked B-2 stealth signals, American air dominance is FINISHED” fanfic...something any mouth-breather with a $12 WW2 crystal radio set could’ve “discovered.” THAT account, you credulous dip. And now, holy shit, you’re eagerly tongue-bathing their NEXT turd because you apparently can’t tell the difference between a grieving family politely asking for privacy and a five-alarm government conspiracy to hide cartoon coffins. Families said “please give us space during the ceremony.” That’s not “hiding bodies,” you conspiracy-brained walnut. That’s called not being a sociopathic vulture for five goddamn minutes. But no...go off king. Keep mainlining Beijing’s industrial-grade TDS copium straight into your timeline at a rate of one unhinged tantrum per 47 seconds and calling it “geopolitical analysis.” Watching a guy who supposedly passed a bar exam get this catastrophically owned by the lowest-effort Chinese info-op farm on the planet is genuinely one of the most pathetic things I’ve seen this year. Do better. Or at least have the dignity to shut the fuck up until the adult supervision arrives. Embarrassing doesn’t even begin to cover it.

DEAR GOD HOW STUPID CAN THIS ACCOUNT CONTINUE TO BE??? Nobody is charging you $165 to vote. The SAVE Act requires proof of citizenship to register and a passport is one of MANY ways to demonstrate that. I've actually read this bill and you CLEARLY HAVE NOT so I'll list them all for you: 1) A REAL ID that explicitly indicates U.S. citizenship 2) A valid U.S. passport 3) Military ID + service record showing U.S. birthplace 4) Government-issued photo ID that indicates U.S. birthplace 5) Government-issued photo ID (without birthplace) + a secondary document like a certified birth certificate 6) Naturalization Certificate or Certificate of Citizenship 7) American Indian Card issued by DHS with "KIC" classification 8) Any other document issued by the federal government as proof of citizenship under the Immigration and Nationality Act

This is a great example of the failure of credentialism. Random people have to explain basic political science to a so-called “Professor of Political Science.” The Strait of Hormuz issue is the perfect “allies” test. The United States has very little direct interest in the strait, as almost none of its ships or energy flows pass through there. So before the United States starts doing all the heavy lifting, it is the ideal moment to ask those who actually benefit from the strait being open what they are willing to contribute. The fact that they all said nothing is proof of what Trump has been saying all along, that supposed “allies” are really just freeloaders. So this was never about whether the Europeans could actually help with a handful of dilapidated frigates. It was a test, and they all failed.
Michael McFaul@McFaul

The United States has the greatest navy in the world. Not really sure why Trump is begging for help to execute his war in the Strait of Hormuz. Can someone explain this to me?
