@JustIndianaGirl The fact that I don’t remember this but am not surprised in the least that this happened in Indiana is telling. Remember when saying things like that could end a politician’s career?

Yall remember when an Indiana lawmaker refused to waive taxes on feminine hygiene products because he thought women orgasm from tampons??? So according to him.. they were a "luxury" item. Anyway.. reason 6,832,910 men shouldn't be legislating a damn thing about women...

After all the shit they've pulled, it's hard not to view socialism in a positive light - especially when billionaires keep raping the system over and over and the working class have to bear all the burdens of this life.

@allenanalysis I hope Tennessee Democrats are paying attention to this, as something similar happened to them recently as well.

🚨 BREAKING: The Texas Supreme Court just shut down Greg Abbott’s effort to remove Democratic lawmakers from office for opposing his gerrymandering map. The same Governor who tried to use the machinery of the state to punish legislators for voting their conscience. The same Texas Supreme Court, every justice elected as a Republican, that just told him no. This is the system working. Not Democrats vs. Republicans. Judges vs. overreach. When elected officials can be removed from office for how they vote, representative government is over. The court saw it. They drew the line. This is what guardrails look like when they hold. Which other governors are watching this ruling tonight and what does it mean for the next attempt?

@prdad306 @jasonllevin But that’s literally how it works now. We really only pay attention to a handful of “swing” states because we know they’re the only ones that can tip the balance in the electoral college. One person=one vote is the only way to make it fair for everyone.

@jasonllevin That would mean a few states will have the power to elect the president. Let's not forget that the 10 least populated state has less than 10 million citizens. whereas Texas and Florida have more than 55 million citizens, so is a question on, how do you make a fair for everyone.

@ARBYUU @jasonllevin @PeteButtigieg You’re just admitting that Republican ideas aren’t popular enough to win over a majority of voters. If they were, then you’d be in favor of popular vote too.

@jasonllevin @PeteButtigieg would consolidate elective control to a handful of blue states, stripping many states of representation in the presidential election. With this proposal, Buttigieg proves himself to be a partisan hack, incapable of leading the nation. He is a threat to democracy.

@jasonllevin Absolutely 100% support switching to a purely popular vote. The only reason Republican politicians don’t support this is because it would finally show everyone that land doesn’t vote but people do.

@StuartpaulE @Provokethoughtz “Fascist groups like Antifa” 🤣🤣🤣 that’s like saying “atheist groups like Christianity”. It’s literally ANTI-fascist. It’s in the name. Y’all just shortened it so people without any critical thinking skills think the ones FIGHTING fascism are the problem…

@Provokethoughtz Not about healthcare. How about fascist groups like antifa—violently try to shut down speakers, journalists—beat one nearly dead. Fascist—from what Zuckerberg admitted recently—that there was govt coercion on what to censor…. Fighting federal agents. Etc. Etc.

BREAKING: How San Antonio OUTSMARTED Greg Abbott and his homophobic rainbow crosswalk ban. Governor Greg Abbott thought he could erase the rainbows celebrating pride on the crosswalks of Texas streets. In his homophobic fog, however, he forgot about the sidewalks. After Abbott ordered the removal of rainbow crosswalks across the state — citing "safety issues" while opposing what he called "political messaging" — San Antonio faced an impossible choice: keep the crosswalks and risk losing $80 million in state funding, or remove symbols that have welcomed the city's LGBTQ+ community since 2018. Gay City Council member Jalen McKee-Rodriguez found the answer hiding in plain sight. Crosswalks fall under state jurisdiction. Sidewalks do not. "We thought, how do we send the strongest possible message to the LGBTQ+ community that we're not going to be bullied?" McKee-Rodriguez said. "They can get rid of the crosswalks, but we can follow that law and paint the sidewalks instead." In March, San Antonio's Pride Cultural Heritage District got brand new rainbow sidewalks — fully legal, fully colorful, and fully defiant. "They are a symbol that we are still here," said Robert Chavez, 67, smiling at the new markings. "We almost ended up with no rainbows at all in our area." Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones — herself gay, an Air Force and Iraq War veteran who served under "don't ask, don't tell" — was pragmatic about the compromise: "My pride is not tied to this paint. It's in my heart and head." But she supported the sidewalk solution as the strongest message the city could send within the law. Abbott's spokesman responded that "Texans expect their tax dollars to enhance roadway safety, not advance political ideologies." He did not comment on the sidewalks. Presumably because there's nothing he can do about them. Houston removed its rainbow crosswalks. Dallas removed its rainbow crosswalks. San Antonio removed its crosswalks and immediately painted the sidewalks instead. The governor tried to legislate away a community's visibility. A gay city council member read the fine print and found a workaround. The rainbows are still there. Sometimes the most powerful act of resistance is knowing exactly where the jurisdiction ends. Please like and share this if you think love and pride are bigger than Greg Abbott's attempts to make them invisible.

@Uzonna7 This description doesn’t make any sense. This isn’t about a secretary and her daughter. The woman had decided she and her daughter were most likely gonna die so they went to the playroom but the main character (also not a secretary) gave up her seat for the two of them.

Deep Impact is the most depressing movie ever marketed as ‘fun disaster flick.’ You watch it thinking it’s popcorn, then suddenly you’re crying in the theater because a random secretary just accepted her death so her daughter could live. Hollywood doesn’t make them like this anymore. 🎬🎥 Deep Impact ❤️🔥

We warned you. You responded with “snowflake,” “triggered?,” “cry harder.” It’s going to get worse—in so many ways. To every Trump voter: It will take decades to rebuild what you have enabled that demented criminal to destroy. But hey, you sure did “own the libs.” It’s going to get worse—in so many ways.
