@WasatchSnow My team lived and died by it, so I share that. But if the other team knows it’s coming, it’s a weak set piece at best, and an easy counter attack with all defenders out of position at worst. And if you do it every throw...

@dtpowski I may be biased though, I was a long throw specialist in my playing days. 😉

Long throw ins work great in high school

@WasatchSnow Also, how often do they result in a loss of possession, and how often does the possession gained from a short throw result in a sequence that may end up more dangerous than a hopeful cross?

@dtpowski Tell that to Rory Delap. Statistically, they result in goals far more often than short, possession throws. But long throws have a much higher immediate fail rate which gives the perception that they don’t work well. There’s a reason they are done frequently.

If that’s wondo going over Silva, it’s a pen.
