@cultured_spice Good stuff! Ran agar gels at uni (I'm old!) but PCR and PAGE gels paid the bills for more than half a decade 20-od years ago!

Great stat — though across all classes it's the 1st since Sheene '77, in the lightweight class (Moto3/125cc) it's the 1st since Dave Simmonds in 1969 💪

2015 #SpanishGP. @DannyKent52 (Leopard Honda NSF250RW) wins the Moto3 race at Jerez, becoming the first British rider to get 3 straight wins since Barry Sheene in 1977!

@DickMackintosh Best read in a Glaswegian accent. Guy goes into a bakery and asks, "Is that a pavlova or a meringue?" "You're right enough, it's a pavlova."

@ScotRoadArchive From closest to the camera: Bedford HA van, mk1 Vauxhall Cavalier, mk3 Cortina, probably a Chrysler Sunbeam, Morris Marina, mk1 Transit, Datsun Sunny estate, Ford Escort van, another Cav (I think), too far away/obscured.

@theiaincameron And also disproves the phrase, "there's no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing" - a stretch of water that's easily fordable early on might not be after a few hours.

After much care, the body of Pinkerton was recovered and brought back to Luibeg by Queenie the garron, led by Adam. When they arrived they found out that the other body, Mackay, had been found farther downstream, and was recovered the next day. Had the party waited for just one more day they could have safely got to where they needed to be, in pleasant weather. Because of their haste to get the train on the day their tickets were valid, two men never came home. A sombre reminder of that phrase well-known to walkers: 'The hills will still be there tomorrow.' On the 26th September 1950, a party of walkers set out in foul weather from Corrour bothy, intent on reaching Aviemore station to catch a train back to Glasgow. Later described as 'the worst day I ever saw on the hill' by Adam Watson, the day would claim lives of the group. 1.

I love how adding the word "all" to the phrase "butter fingers" turns it from being an undesirable thing to being a very good thing indeed. #shortbread
