@Buccigross it's inexcusable for Coyle to not at least make that call. If Pat says "lose my number", that'd be expected and we'd all move on. But you have to at minimum make him say no. You'll never definitively know what he would have said if you don't ask....

I'm surprised Minnesota hasn't called Western Michigan's Pat Ferschweiler for the Head Coach opening. Born in Minnesota. Family there. Clearly an elite President, GM, Coach snd player developer which is the #cawlidgehawkey job. And he's in his prime.

After years of General Admission, this is the first year Class A has reserved seats and this is very cool to see. I really hope to see the day when this place gets sold out for the Class A semis...they're so often as good and sometimes even more entertaining than the evening session.

@HanischBakery I don't necessarily disagree bit watching it at full speed real time live in the arena it wasn't clear that he stuck his leg out backwards like it was watching the replay. Real time I can see how a ref misses that especially in OT where you don't want to be the reason as a ref.

@JCrippa20 @JMZygmunt11 @mnhshockeytalk I think leaving for the NTDP if given the opportunity is almost a no brainer even over leaving for any other USHL team. The resources there are next level. Obviously depending on what your role is there as well. That is something else I think is overlooked in decisions.

There is not one correct path for everyone. There will be kids that leave that should have stayed and vice versa maybe.

Nah I've come to the conclusion (on my own) that every kid in MN should stay in MN HS Hockey for all 4 years. Junior's can wait. Enjoy your youth. Develop at your pace. Mature. Enjoy the pressure free HS years. Outdoor on off days, just enjoy hockey. After that, it's a business.

@mnhshockeytalk Question for you. Do you feel the same way about the kids that are leaving for leagues outside the WHL? Plenty of MN kids leave HS early for USHL, NAHL, even the NA3 and AAA (Sioux Falls as an example). I only see you posting about the WHL so genuinely curious.

@JMZygmunt11 @mnhshockeytalk Not talking as much about if juniors is better or not. And just like anything there is a wide range of quality of HS programs and the quality of competition a kid would get on a nightly basis depending on the program they play for.

@JMZygmunt11 @mnhshockeytalk There are examples of kids that stay and have huge senior seasons in HS and improve their draft ranking where had they gone to junior maybe their role would have been less and they wouldn't have gotten that boost. It goes both ways. I was more pointing to the exposure portion.

@JMZygmunt11 @mnhshockeytalk I was speaking more to the exposure point. There is plenty of exposure in MNHS hockey. Now it is relative based on the program you play for. No doubt that USHL or WHL is higher level of hockey. And I don't think there is any point where a player becomes "too good" for MNHS.

@mnhshockeytalk If you’ve outgrown HS and proven you’re too good, definitely time to move on to junior. No need to stay 4 years. And those who want more exposure in their DY, junior is the right step to take IF you’re ready for it

@YouthHockeyHub @bertogliat Isn't NCAA recruiting based on grade and not birth year? 09s that will be juniors this year can take official visits and verbally be offered and commit and incoming sophisticated were able to be contacted(phone, email, text, etc as of June 15th I believe.

@charlie_monn14 @mnhshockeytalk I don't off the top of my head. Know for sure they haven't the last 3 years. Usually you can see a top kid from their team skip 15U and go straight to 16U or a 16U eligible kid that makes the Prep team.
