#Dublin's Theatre Royal 1937 Paul Robeson - #American bass baritone concert artist ,stage and film actor appeared on the Royal. He also gained attention in the film production of Show Boat (1936) and would have sung "Old Man River" during his concert on the Royal.

One of the more unusual Dublin bridge's was a floating bridge over the Royal Canal Harbour extension at Broadstone ( Foster's Aqueduct), seen here in a photo of about 1860. There also seems to have been a nearby drawbridge for pedestrians rct.uk/collection/sea…

the 1597 Dublin gunpowder explosion atomised the old Customs House (the Crane) and killed over 120 people. Occurring in the 9-Year War, the authorities suspected an attack. Yet it was likely a freak accident. The shock waves toppled houses on the far side of the Liffey too.
