The A-10 is a museum piece, a giant gun the pilot rides like a horse. The gun itself, the GAU-8 Avenger, has seven barrels of rotating depleted uranium, longer than a VW Beetle and twice as heavy. It fires 3,900 rounds a minute with a sound like God ripping a bedsheet. This monstrosity is propelled by two 3,000-hp megajets and vestigial wings. When it fires long enough, it stops mid-air. It’s that musky, tobacco-farm, high-T energy—enough chest hair to suffocate a lion. An absolute unit. A plane that instills terror in everything stupid enough to be standing in front of it. It’s a ridiculous contraption that America just can’t quit.

Hello Senator Thune, Let's expose what you're really doing with "reconciliation." You announced it yesterday, eleven months after the House passed the SAVE America Act. You're not trying to pass this bill. You're trying to kill it in a way you can blame on process. Here's how we know: Reconciliation requires the Senate parliamentarian to rule that provisions are "budgetary." Citizenship verification is not budgetary. Photo ID mandates are not budgetary. The parliamentarian will gut the bill. Then you'll shrug and say "we tried." We see through you. Meanwhile, you WON'T use the tools that actually work: Rule XIX limits each senator to two speeches per legislative day. Keep the Senate in continuous session, file cloture daily, and the filibuster exhausts in ~12-20 days. You dismissed it as "complicated." Because if you tried and succeeded, you'd have to actually pass the bill. Harry Reid nuked the filibuster in 2013 when he wanted results. Mitch McConnell changed Senate rules THREE times and canceled the August recess. Chuck Schumer used reconciliation within months on a 50-50 Senate. You have 53 seats. You've changed nothing, canceled nothing, and waited eleven months. Now let's talk donors: • Goldman Sachs: $150K to you - top H-1B user • Google: $75K - lobbies against E-Verify • Meta: $72.5K - Zuckerberg's FWD[.]us pushes mass immigration • Wells Fargo: $90K - banks undocumented immigrants Same corporations sponsor Punchbowl News, where you sit for "Fly Out Days" which nobody watches except Congress staffers and K Street lobbyists who pays premium bucks for legislative intelligence. Their reporter then telegraphs to the audience the SAVE Act "will ultimately fail." Corporate money flows to you AND to the outlet that frames your inaction as inevitable. We see the loop. You called grassroots anger a "paid influencer ecosystem." YOU are the paid influencer. You take the wrong side of a 80% issue because you are indistinguishable from a K Street mouthpiece, and an ineffective one to boot who won't bend the rules to get anything passed. What we want: 1. Force a real talking filibuster. 2. Stop hiding behind process. 3. Pass the SAVE America Act. YOU will become the reason that we will have our butts kicked in midterms. Not Candace Owens, not Nick Fuentes, not anyone else. You and you alone, and all because you want to make the 200 or so viewers of Punchbowl Fly Out Days happy. You're living in a K Street information bubble, addicted to the comforts and praises of lobbyists masquerading as journalists. You mistake the steak and martini dinners you get invited to as your own constituents. You are not "moderate." The SAVE America Act has 98% support among Republicans. Name one other thing that has 98% support. You are an extreme minority who prides himself on being a calm leader, when in reality you are well in the running for the most ineffective Majority leader of all time. Prove me wrong. Do the bare modicum of effort. Not symbolic. Actual effort. Cancel the recess. Get SAVE America Act passed.

I have been informed by NBC that I won’t be back with FNIA this fall and it has given me time to reflect and also to look ahead.    It’s disappointing  news but I want to thank my NBC family for making the last 17 years so special.  I’ll have lasting memories of my time there, especially with Rodney Harrison who has become a tremendous friend.   God has always directed me in these moments and while I’m not sure what the next step will be for me—whether it will be in football, in broadcasting, or getting more involved in church and community outreach —I know God has plans for my life and I can’t wait see them unfold. And I am reminded of one of my favorite verses in the Bible-Romans 8:28. “God works all things for His good for those who love the Lord.”

This will be a bit more formal than usual, but I wanted to announce that I am withdrawing my nomination for consideration as Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs. I am tremendously grateful to President Trump for nominating me and then (upon expiration of my original nomination) renominating me for this role, and I am also grateful to Secretary Rubio and his team for their continued support throughout this long and time-consuming process. The fact that they chose to nominate me and were so supportive of my candidacy was one of many indications that this is an administration that was not satisfied to simply do business as usual nor to simply pick nominees from the same stable of “business as usual” possibilities. Unfortunately, for senior positions such as this one, the support of the President and Secretary of State is very important but not sufficient. We also needed the unanimous support of every GOP Senator on the Committee on Foreign Relations, given the unanimous opposition of Senate Democrats to my candidacy, and unfortunately, at this time this unanimous support was not forthcoming. Under our Constitutional system, that is the role that the Senate has in deciding Presidential appointments at this level and I accept that political reality, and do not wish to have the President, Secretary Rubio, or the rest of his team waste valuable time and energy attempting to change that decision. I remain extremely confident in President Trump, Secretary Rubio, and the rest of the outstanding team at State (a group of leaders that includes many close friends). I know they will continue to pursue a foreign policy that puts America first, and that they will work to ensure America is able to exercise its power and influence in the world like never before.

While Mayor of San Francisco, Gavin Newsom had an affair with his best friend's wife. There was more to that scandal than most people know. It's really a testament to how corrupt California politics is that the scandal did not end Newsom's career. Alex Tourk was Newsom's longtime friend and campaign manager. Tourk became Newsom's Deputy Chief of Staff after Newsom took office as Mayor in 2004. Shortly after Newsom took office, Tourk's wife (known as Ruby Rippey-Tourk back then) was given a job as "Appointments Secretary" in the Mayor's office. It is unclear if she got that job because of her husband or because of Newsom. She kept the job until the summer/fall of 2006. Newsom's affair with her was alleged to have started in 2005 but it may have started earlier. Mayor Newsom's mistress was not only his friend's wife, she was also his subordinate. The affair was apparently an open secret to many in the Mayor's office. Unfortunately for the husband he somehow didn't know until she admitted it to him later on. Love is blind. Here's the part of the scandal that most politicians would not have been able to survive. After the affair became public, it became clear that Newsom's mistress/secretary had received benefits that she did not qualify for while she worked for Newsom. Most of the unearned benefits revolved around her getting paid for time not spent working. During her tenure she missed work over 20% of the time and yet still kept her job and still got paid. There was a nine month stretch during which she never worked even one full week during the entire nine months. She exceeded her PTO amount but kept taking PTO and kept getting paid for it. Here's the big one. Gavin's former mistress/secretary also took almost three months off under the city's Catastrophic Illness Program. She was approved and paid for the time off even though her "illness" absolutely did not qualify for the program. Her illness? Alcoholism. No city employee in San Francisco had ever been approved for paid leave through the Catastrophic Illness Program for drug/alcohol related issues. The program was for life threatening illnesses such as advanced stage cancer. Ruby Rippey-Tourk claimed she was an alcoholic, took ten weeks off, and got paid for it by the city. Newsom's mistress was the only person to get that paid time off granted just for claiming to be an alcoholic. It was rumored at the time of her leave that she was pregnant with Newsom's child. Because it was San Francisco and because Newsom was a popular up and coming Democrat politician who had the support of Bill Clinton, there was never a serious investigation into any of it. After the affair became public, Alex Tourk quit his job. Newsom announced that he would be paying Tourk's monthly salary until Tourk found a new job. Newsom ended up using campaign funds to pay off Tourk, not personal money. Newsom was dating his current wife (Jennifer Siebel) when the scandal became public. Siebel defended Newsom, bashed Ruby Rippey-Tourk as the "culprit" and then reached out to Harvey Weinstein (whom she had previously slept with) for advice on how Gavin should handle the media. Today Siebel claims she is a fighter for women. After the affair became public, Gavin claimed that he too had alcohol problems and was going to rehab. He publicly announced that he had entered an outpatient rehab program. He was re-elected for Mayor later that year. During his run for Governor in 2018, Newsom began completely denying ever going to rehab or even ever having a problem with alcohol. In 2018 he was probably already starting to clean up his past in preparation for a future Presidential run.

On April 7, 2003, Captain Kim Campbell-callsign 'Killer Chick'-was piloting her A-10 Warthog over Iraq when disaster struck. U.S. ground forces were pinned at a key bridge in North Baghdad, blocked by enemy fighters. Campbell was tasked with close air support, one of aviation's riskiest missions. She dove in, fired her rockets, and hit the target. But as she climbed, her plane shuddered from enemy fire. The A-10 was riddled with damage. It rolled lett and nosed down. Controls failed-stick, pedals, everything dead. Hydraulics were gone; her 50,000-pound jet plummeted uncontrollably. Most pilots would eject, but over hostile ground, survival was uncertain. Campbell made a historic choice. She switched to manual reversion mode-a grueling backup most A-10 pilots avoid practicing. Without power assists, brakes, or full control, she relied on raw strength and skill. For over an hour, she battled the crippled plane across 100 miles of enemy territory, each adjustment demanding immense force. A single error meant death. Approaching base, she faced the ultimate test: landing without hydraulics, brakes, or reliable controls. Defying odds, Captain Campbell landed safely and walked away, joining a rare few who've mastered an A-10 in manual mode. For her skill, bravery, and resolve, she earned the Distinguished Flying Cross, a top U.S. aerial honor. God bless this American hero!
