@RobJHeaton Thank you for the chuckles... perfectly wrapped: "I scrolled around the HTML and reflected that this had been both the most and least productive flight of my life."

I wrote a tool called PySkyWiFi that gives you completely free, unbelievably stupid wi-fi on long-haul flights. It tunnels data through the "first name" field in your airmiles account, and can reach speeds of up to several bytes per second. robertheaton.com/pyskywifi

Was just asked, as part of submitting a recommendation letter for a student applying to grad school, if the student "exhibits common sense." Given that they're applying to grad school, the answer should be obvious...

If founders don’t sleep, bad stuff happens, in 4 studies: 1) Lack of 💤makes you generate worse ideas 2) Lack of 💤 makes you think the bad ideas you develop are good 3) Getting 💤 boosts your mood, upping the mood of your startup 4) Lack of 💤 lowers your entrepreneurial ability

Confession: I have no idea what to do with edtech data dashboards like these. Do you use them? How do they help you make teaching decisions?

I often tell colleagues that the fastest way to be a really great engineer is not to grind leetcode or to learn a new framework, but to make your written communication clearer. Everything else follows. This article does a really great job explaining why: karlsutt.com/articles/commu…

Teaching is so weird because nobody seems to want to talk about how to explain things... which seems like it'd be something we'd talk a whole lot about. There are a few things I've learned from research into clarity of explanations that I wish I'd been taught earlier 1/

I *love* Rich Schwartz's book that he wrote for his daughter Lily: math.brown.edu/reschwar/Paper… "This book is all business. If you repeatedly get the right answer, you know how to do it. Once you really know *how*, you will be able to figure out *why*." Are there others like it?

Jibaro from Love Death and Robots season 3 is probably the best thing I’ve seen this year. It’s not just good, it’s something I’ve never ever seen in my life before, it’s completely original and unique, like I’m so gagged
