Just watching the Oscars last night, it struck me that the definition of “courage” in Hollywood is standing in a room full of friends and colleagues and saying something that everyone in the room already agrees with. Such boldness!

Earlier this month, two evangelists in #Bangladesh were beaten and detained by police. It comes as believers in the country continue to face heightened risk amid the country’s ongoing political and social crisis. Read more: bit.ly/4dWol3C

The abortion talking points on both sides are stark examples of expressive individualism, pragmatism, & political expediency that is ravaging our culture. No meaningful anthropology, no moral center, no pricked conscience. We know this but I fear we are becoming inoculated.

@margbrennan Saw your debate this morning with Nikki Haley. You gave it your best shot, but I think Haley won. However, it would have been helpful had there been an actual (objective) journalist moderating the debate. Do you know anybody?

THE MOCKERY OF CHRISTIANITY IN PARIS Christians don’t be surprised about what happened at the Olympics’ opening ceremony yesterday. Mockery of the Christian faith has been a part of our heritage for 2,000 years. It’s been happening since Jesus suffered on a cross between two mocking criminals. It’s been happening ever since he hung twisted and dying on two beams of wood before a hate-spewing crowd. The #paris2024olympics and its mock-filled, hate-fueled drag show depiction of the last supper should break our hearts. But it should not surprise us. The Apostle John reminds us, “Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters, if the world hates you.” 1 John 3:13 I can’t imagine the uproar that would be unleashed if such vitriol was directed toward the Islamic faith. But, when it is directed toward Christians, it seems almost routine to a giggling world. How should Christians react? Outrage? Anger? Hatred? Instead of inspiring reciprocal hatred, it should motivate us to pray for these drag queens who need the salvation offered by the One they so openly defy. It should call us to intercede on behalf of the Olympic officials who allowed such hatred spewed in the direction of the historic Christian faith. Why pray for them? Because there there’s another ship floating down another river. That river is called eternal judgment and that boat is named the brevity of life. One day every mocking drag queen, every dismissive Olympic official, every cheering spectator, every sinner of all stripes who has rejected the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior, will eternally dock their boats at their final destination, the Lake of Fire. “Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:11-15 There will be no mocking on that terrible day, only relentless screams and tears. May our hearts break now for what will happen to them then, unless they turn to Christ alone for the salvation of their souls. In the meantime, we must not only gladly receive the mockery of the Christian faith from the world, we must pray for those who persecute us and ask God to save them from the horrific place they are headed. The river is flowing. Judgment is coming. Let’s reach them all with the hope of Jesus before it’s too late. #OlympicGames

@drantbradley Any data to support this? I’m intrigued. I’d like to believe it’s true. But, I’d like to see data proving it IS true. Hoping this isn’t just wishful thinking.

Eastern Orthodox churches are filling up former evangelical youth group teens, now young men, all over America. They’ve had it with the “Jesus is my boyfriend” CCM scene & emotionalism in worship like a Taylor Swift concert. This is how they’re successfully drawing guys.👇🏾

First full day of our latest Sexuality Symposium. Great group of folks from all over the country, doing ministry in a wonderfully wide range of ministry contexts. First Symposium guest was Christopher Yuan, author of Holy Sexuality. Really stimulating and thoughtful discussion!

@jangelooff I kept reading your article to see which was Menendez’s party affiliation, Republican or Democrat, and no mention was ever made. Not once! That’s how, accidentally, you actually gave the info to your readers. We all knew: “Oh, must be a Democrat” #objectivity

My colleague, Don Shepson, is releasing this new book. Based on what I hear from his students, this book is going to be rich with pastoral insight & sound instruction. Anglican, or not, all of us in ministry will benefit from the principles in this book. anglicanhousepublishers.org/shop/oaks-of-r…

Aside from extremely exceptional circumstances, if you are a Christian & you are not showing up weekly to worship with your brothers & sisters in a local church, you are robbing both yourself & other people. Don't miss out because it's hard. Almost all important things are hard.
