@EcciusMaximus The idea she didn't sin is NO WHERE in scripture and was introduced by a council in the 5th century seeking to incorporate the early worship of Nimrod and his mother from Pagan worship. When you see a mother child statuary and it dates to 2000 BC or later, that's Nimrod.

The doctrine that Mary sinned came from Pastors post 1826. That idea never even existed before 1826.

@Alex_Ortodoxie @ModernDayDebate Neither. Church of Christ is the spitting image of the first Christian apologist Justin Martyr. His teachings as to the (then) present interpretation and meanings of scripture from people he met who were direct converts from the Apostles.

@C2Antiquity That’s awesome. I regularly have to remind my kids not to fart during evening prayers and have to keep telling them when I ask them to pick someone to pray for it can’t be a SpongeBob character 😂

“WWII Consensus” is an antisemitic dog whistle here. He means Jews are corrupting our society with multi-culturalism and globalization, and that the war against Nazi Germany started this. And invoking Epstein? Jonathan is clearly signaling to Jew haters. “SpielBERG is trying to cast a veil over your eyes and make you accept the globalist elites flooding our society with immigrants!” Shameful.
Jonathan Pageau@PageauJonathan

I promised no spoilers as much as possible, but here is the basics for Disclosure Day. It is one of the most shocking pieces of propaganda I have seen in a while. It is the last call of the WWII consensus: aliens are your saviors and empathy is the only virtue. In a post-Epstein world, it dares have a story of children seduced and kidnapped by aliens pretending to be Disney-style animals, taken to Hansel and Gretel's house (this is what it is called in the movie) to be "imbued" by aliens in a way so traumatic that they forget and repress it until they are adults, only to discover that this initiation has given them the power to: See people's secret thoughts. Pretend to be other people and use that to manipulate. Make things in plain view disappear. Translate foreign and alien languages. Be a "passenger" for the alien's message to the world. This is nothing to say about its take on Christianity and the suggested apostasy around accepting these beings. Then finally the entire movie is a final desperate appeal to the traditional media as the only purveyors of truth. The entire drama of the film is a man who has irrefutable video proof of aliens looking to release it. The whole movie is a series of chases against the evil corporation that wants to keep it hidden. He ends up releasing it on the evening news! Yes, you heard me. He releases it on the evening news which is then transmitted to all the traditional media companies that are named: ABC, CNN, Fox News etc. Anyone under 70 will realize that the movie could have ended in 10 minutes with a laptop and wifi. It is really mad. Don't go see it.

I watched the debate between Alex Sorin and JP for a while (it's currently still ongoing as I write this). The biggest mistake JP made was allowing Alex to define the word "pray" as merely "ask." As soon as that happened, the entire debate fell apart. Pray and ask are not interchangeable in this conversation. This is exactly where the real debate lies on praying to saints. "Pray" involves submissive, spiritual communication to a higher power. The EO/RC position relies on this stripped-down definition — reducing it to just "ask." A stronger tactic would have been proving from Scripture how "pray" (in its biblical usage) is reserved for God alone.

What Happens If We Apply Jay Dyer’s Own Conspiracy Method to Jay Dyer? (A Super Layman / GPT5 response). TL;DR: If we apply his own “follow the networks, symbols, money, ideology, institutional interests, and geopolitical alignment” method back onto him, Jay Dyer becomes vulnerable to the same suspicion-machine he uses on others. The argument would look like this: Jay Dyer is not merely “an Orthodox apologist.” He is connected to an Orthodox ecosystem that intersects with ROCOR, the Moscow Patriarchate, Russian Orthodox identity, anti-Western traditionalism, online convert radicalization, and geopolitical narratives favorable to Russia or Russian-style civilizational politics. Using his own method, you would ask: Who benefits from Jay Dyer’s message? Answer: Russian-Orthodox-aligned soft power benefits. Anti-Protestant polemics benefit. Anti-liberal political traditionalism benefits. ROCOR-style convert Orthodoxy benefits. Moscow-adjacent religious geopolitics may benefit. Then ask: What institutions does his message push people toward? Answer: Eastern Orthodoxy, especially the online convert version that often treats ROCOR/Russian Orthodoxy as more “based,” traditional, anti-modern, and intellectually superior. Then ask: What ideology does he normalize? Answer: suspicion of Western liberalism, suspicion of Protestant epistemology, suspicion of American institutions, high trust in Orthodox metaphysics, and sympathy for anti-modern geopolitical traditionalism. Then ask: Could a foreign religious-political ecosystem use this? Answer: yes. Russian Orthodox-linked interests would have motive to amplify someone who weakens Protestant confidence, attracts Western converts, attacks Western liberalism, and makes Russian/Byzantine traditionalism look like the only coherent worldview. But here is the key distinction: That does not prove Jay Dyer is a paid asset, agent, or conscious propagandist. It proves that by his own pattern-detection method, he becomes highly “useful” to the very networks he would normally tell us to investigate. So the critique is: “If Jay Dyer’s method can turn money, ideology, institutional overlap, and shared interests into suspicion against his opponents, then the same method makes Jay Dyer suspicious too.” The fair conclusion: Not “Jay Dyer is controlled by Russia.” But: “Jay Dyer’s own hermeneutic, when applied consistently, creates a Jay Dyer-shaped conspiracy theory.” That exposes the methodological problem: his system can be powerful for detecting real influence, but if unchecked, it can turn almost any ideological alignment into a hidden-control narrative.

I’ve never watched a Jay Dyer stream & I’ve never been to an Orthodox Church. I don’t waste time on irrelevant pursuits. I’m only concerned with actually relevant faiths like Catholicism which literally runs the world while orthodox are praying to Allah from Moldovan mud huts.

@Crossbearer77 Well then youve clearly never watched his stream because basically every 3rd super chat and caller thanks him for it.

Whenever the "Mormons Aren't Christians" discourse gets going, Mormon Twitter generally responds in one or more of the following ways: 1. Insist that rejecting Jesus's divine nature and His work does not disqualify them from "believing" in Jesus 2. "We are literally the kindest and most righteous people on earth." 3. "Your churches are an abomination but we are just like you and it's so mean of you to say otherwise." 4. Accuse of us misrepresenting what they believe and then tell us what they actually DO believe, which is exactly what we just said they believe. 5. Outright lie about what they believe.

@Victor475246832 @Phoenix87136 @EthanWayne2001 I don’t think orthodox Christians badmouthing other orthodox Christians is a good thing. How about we all pray we can have Christ like mindsets and then all this stuff will work itself out naturally I’d assume
