Here is my reasoning for switching to yes after making $5k on NO!
TL;DR - There is significant evidence that Pam Bondi is no longer the AG as of 4/2 and no evidence that she will maintain the role of AG going forward. Minimally, the market should *not* resolve N prior to the latest expiration allowed by the contract, to allow time for an official press release to clarify.
Per the EFFECTIVELEAVE rules, any official acknowledgement by the DOJ of Bondi vacating the role of AG before April 3rd would constitute evidence from the body, agency, company, organization, or entity at which is held... that may be used to resolve all strikes Y.
Around 8:15 PM EST on 4/2, new Acting AG Todd Blanche took an interview on Jesse Waters primetime in his capacity as Acting AG, and discussed goals of the department going forward: foxnews.com/video/63924787… Todd Blanche is the head of the DOJ and took this interview in his official capacity as Acting AG. This constitutes an official acknowledgement by the agency of his ascension to the head role, and correspondingly Bondi's vacation of the AG role.
Under the Federal Vacancies Reform Act of 1998, an acting officer can only serve when there is a vacancy in the principal office. The Act allows an acting official to serve when the officer "dies, resigns, or is otherwise unable to perform the functions and duties of the office." Thus, Blanche's ascension to Acting AG mandates that Bondi was fired prior to April 3rd. This does not conflict with the "transition period" mentioned in her social media post, as she may assist with the transition outside the capacity of the AG position. Todd Blanche's tweet also refers to her time leading the DOJ in the past tense (x.com/DAGToddBlanche…):
Pam Bondi led this Department with strength and conviction and I’m grateful for her leadership and friendship.
Thank you to President Trump for the trust and the opportunity to serve as Acting Attorney General.
Many major news agencies corroborate her firing and Blanche's subsequent ascension as occurring prior to April 3rd. None claim definitively that she will remain in her role as AG. Fox News (foxnews.com/politics/pam-b…):
Editor's note: This article was updated to clarify that Bondi was out as AG before Trump’s address Wednesday night, and left Washington, D.C., the following morning.
CNN (cnn.com/2026/04/02/pol…):
"President Donald Trump has fired Pam Bondi as attorney general. She will be replaced for now by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, who will serve as acting attorney general, Trump said."
CNN (cnn.com/2026/04/02/pol…):
Early in the administration, in fact, the White House told the now-former attorney general she could not appear on Fox News...
This one represents a direct acknowledgement by a congressperson that she is CURRENTLY not AG - NBC News (nbcnews.com/politics/trump…):
The House Oversight Committee plans to review the status of the subpoena that requires former Attorney General Pam Bondi to appear before the committee regarding the release of the Epstein files.
A committee spokeswoman said: “Since Pam Bondi is no longer Attorney General, Chairman Comer will speak with Republican members and the Department of Justice about the status of the deposition subpoena and confer on next steps.”
I think Kalshi can not possibly prove Y or N right now but 7% was a Steal IMO for this as really the only thing in the Y favor is the DOJ website not being updated possibly.
Either way: Worst case I would still be up 3k on this market today and had a lot of fun digging on this one.
