I don’t think all those ethnicities will ever be fused into a “single bloc”, but rather some of them will be (and are being) fused into different blocs. “Whiteness” is really just a catch-all term for the various ethnicities that have emerged or are emerging in America. Italian-Irish-Mexican mixes like Nick Fuentes are still quite different from more Nordic mixes like English-German. Even Tucker has accused Trump of hostility towards WASPs, Trump being German-Scottish with no English ancestry.

This talking point is as stubborn as it is stupid. It is true that there are distinct European ethnicities, i.e., Anglos, Italians, Nordics, and so on. In America, Whiteness denotes the fusion of proximate European groups into a single bloc. Most White Americans trace their heritage back to more than one European ethnicity, so “White” is simply the most apt descriptor. There is also significant genetic clustering among European groups on a purely biological level. We can observe this on PCA tests when measured against other groups. Even within Europe, genetic distance maps onto geographic distance. White identity does not exist merely because White people began to face persecution. It tracks for something tangible.
