I am reading about the Dakota War of 1862 and am continually stuck by parallels with Palestine. Below summary from History.com can’t adequately portray the scale of the immiseration, humiliation and violent oppression to which the tribe was subjected.

Ugly chart, interesting that bloomberg is spinning it as good for Iran. Even hamas fires rockets occasionally, so it’ll never be 0 for too long (once it gets there). The casualties aren’t high either, especially compared to pre war estimates. Iran underperformed all projections.

Disagree w many parts of this piece, but the explanation of why war w Iran has 0 to negative utility to the US is good. Major US interests in ME are Gulf Oil & Suez Shipping. No threats to to them existed b4, but war w Iran threatens both. Only Israel benefits.

@HagueStormer They are almost certainly going boots on the ground in my opinion. I think the reporting on shortages is honestly “missile gap” propaganda for the war budget in US and EU too.

@duni34 There are too many differences between this and Iraq to make apples-to-apples comparisons, I think. It seems like the US is using up unnecessarily expensive equipment to mitigate casualties since this is already an unpopular war.

Updated kill count below. Let’s add to the comparison in the screenshot. Iraq was facing ground troops BUT Iraq is way smaller + had been bombed for over a decade. Iran was supposed to kill a ton more. Hasn’t happened, even if we multiply by 10, US-UK faced worse first 25 days.

🔴 290 U.S. troops have been wounded in the war with Iran, the Pentagon said Tuesday, per AP. Of those, 255 have returned to duty, leaving 35 still out of action, including 10 seriously wounded. The total marks an increase of 90 since mid-March, and 13 U.S. service members have also been killed in combat.

Over 90% of Israeli jews want the war on Iran to continue. Saudi and UAE want it to continue and may even join it. The US is sending thousands and thousands of more troops to the middle east. The empire is not deterred. All this plus the chart above is proof.

I really don't see how pointing out that tolerating Jewish fascism and ignoring Arab victims for decades to the point where it has been able to essentially dominate the agenda of the military-industrial complex and lead us to an absurd and self-destructive war somehow lets Americans off the hook
