in college i took a Women Authors class for an english credit and i was one of two men there. the other guy was a gamergate style chud who finished the semester a feminist who regretted his vote. this is a real thing that can happen if you educate people kindly.

really enjoyed what the sound people/director did where when robby was going to scalp flap guy’s room after joy said he was needed, the ED noise got louder & overlapping & overwhelming, one of the first glimpses of robby’s mental state from his perspective we’ve gotten so far!

@FayeQueenV @mohabbotts he got it earlier from ems & didnt react poorly, plus it’s a pretty standard sedative for combative patients. really the only contraindication relevant to benzo usage on him is the head injury. ofc dana didnt exactly follow protocol but he probs woulda gotten vers either way

@mohabbotts The thing is though this is why all hospitals have response standards for handling this. It isn’t a nurse going rogue keeping a dose of versed like she’s gonna take down anyone herself. EDs have security team.
Giving versed was super dangerous since they didn’t have a chem panel

@MattyB187 @mohabbotts midazolam isnt really a major respiratory depressant like ketamine would be, and its used to sedate people all the time. the medics that brought him in literally used it to sedate him on scene

@mohabbotts You don't give Versed like that which is a strong Benzo to sedate someone because of hits respiratory depressing properties
The "booty darts" they give in say a psych ward are like a mix of like 3 different meds, at least 1 or 2 of them is an anti-psychotic not benzo

the fun thing about tmj is that doctors see it as a dental issue and dentists/oral surgeons see it as a medical issue so no one treats it and no insurances cover it

@payrtu @fxingalx @InsaneMistress have they tried trigger point injections? my doc does those for me and says that as long as they keep working along with my oral appliances, i won’t have to switch to getting botox

@fxingalx @InsaneMistress My insurance doesn't cover it because all Botox injections are considered cosmetic, according to them. My dentist, an oral surgeon and my regular doc have tried to go to bat for me. No luck.

@MoonlitSalem @InsaneMistress yeah you ultimately have to find an orofacial pain specialist unfortunately, i’m lucky enough to have one in the dallas area but they’re probably not the easiest to find

@InsaneMistress as a tmj haver and it contributing to MANY of my chronic migraines… THIS! My neurologist sent me to a dentist, and my dentist wanted to send me back to my neurologist or pcp. 🤪
