I learned today that I've been promoted to Associate Professor with tenure. I have worked towards this for so long that it almost feels surreal. I am grateful and excited as I look forward to new pathways. +

@alvaropereirajr Sim, eu li e eu acho que a matéria está um pouco ambígua em relação a oferta de uma full professorship. O meu ponto é que full professor sem tenure é uma contradição. E nesse caso parece ser pra tentar aliviar o problema político da autonomia da UNC que tem vários precedentes.

@alvaropereirajr Os rankings universitários americanos são confusos. Ela não seria “full professor” já que “full professor” implica em ter tenure. Seria um contrato provisório, mas não usual que acho que seja pra contornar a situação ou fazer uma pressão política.

Segundo a reportagem, ela continuaria a escrever pra revista dominical do NYT, mas imagino q como colaboradora, já q ela seria “full professor”, professora titular, na universidade. Digo seria pq ñ se sabe se ela vai aceitar a contrato de 5 anos oferecido (em vez de estabilidade)

@DrMaDMo @MaherEK @dan_guberman UNC changed the whole exam last year. They split it into two parts (MA and PhD): the MA is a two-days closed book exam based on a bibliography that students receive a year before the exam, the PhD is also two sessions, but based on individual fields and bibs for each student.
