Great to see our softball girls compete and find a way to get it done today. With the injury bug going around, it would’ve been east to hang their heads… but they didn’t. Why I’m in the office at 5:30 AM every morning… I always want to have Plan A, Plan B, and Plan C ready for our teams. You never know exactly what your athletes are bringing in that day. Our softball girls are grinders and never complain. Yesterday during warm-ups you could tell they were a little tired… but once the lift started it was clear — they were taxed from games and tournaments. So today we pivoted. No heavy lifts, No extreme velocity work. Just some Yoga. Great active recovery — getting that oxygenated blood moving through their sore muscles to help their bodies recover. The best coaches I’ve learned from don’t just run workouts. They know how to read their athletes. It also helps when there Head Coach gives you the trust and freedom to do what’s best to keep the team healthy and competitive. Love what I do!! @dvisd_athletics @dv_softball

Tonight was a fun one getting to watch our softball girls compete. Never have I seen a shortstop pump fake to first, flip her hips, snap the wrist, and still get the out at second — that’s hips, core, and athletic awareness/IQ all working together.
