@JoeKinseyexp The Web Redemption by @danieltosh on his Tosh.0 TV show from 2011 was gold too.

@mich___l @alexvalente The coffee beans themselves are great here, probably better than Aus. Just difficult to get a cow milk-based coffee that’s on the same level, so I usually just drink my coffee black and actually now prefer it. Occasionally I get soy lattes and they taste identical to Australia.
English

This is unfortunately the way with anything international :(.
Hinoki however, is definitely a cut above anything in melb if you're still around. Practically anything in the cbd isn't worth going to if you're wanting something casual.
Have you thought about just importing your own beans? haha A lot of decent cafes around here actually use soy milk that you could probably get there. I lived in Tokyo many years ago and I've got vague memories of there being a good selection.

Those places do look pretty legit. Although I’ve found with the ones in Sydney while they look good, they don’t hit the same way. Slight ingredient/cooking process variations I guess.
There’s a coffee shop near me here in Yokohama “Byron Bay Coffee” which while it’s acceptable, it doesn’t hit like an Aussie coffee. Mainly the milk I assume.
English

@mich___l @alexvalente Can you give an example? How much do they cost?
English

@dylanlindgren @alexvalente There is some excellent Japanese in melbourne, you just have to know where to look
English

I’ve been living in Japan almost 5 years now. I look back on what I thought was a good Japanese restaurant whilst living in Sydney wondering what I was thinking.
There are good ones like Azuma in Sydney, but most ~$100pp. Cheap ones (not that anything is “cheap” in Sydney anymore) are rubbish in my experience.
English

@dylanlindgren @alexvalente I have the best Japanese near me.

I've always wondered with trackside photographers how much they are able to follow the race live as it happens, versus catching up on events after the race.
I imagine some part of the race is spent walking between vantage points during which there's no good view of the track or a screen. Or looking down a lens while something dramatic's happening on the other side of the circuit.
When trackside do you follow it live on the big screens/speakers, through the F1 apps etc on your phone? Is it difficult to keep up with it all while also taking photos?
(not having a go, just genuinely curious)
English

Yes. I guess I wasn’t watching. 😂
Still stand by the feeling I have watching these races. Passing cars that lose energy , then getting passed back for the same reason isn’t racing. There’s no skill to that. And the people driving these cars seem to say the same thing.

LittleKanga 🇺🇦 🇺🇸 🇵🇸@CabbPatchttv
@jameypricephoto @NicoleOnRacing You have not been watching these races then.
English

Attended the race in Shanghai in 2018 from a similar position in the main grandstand. Can confirm it’s probably the best race to attend if you actually want to see the race with your own eyes, as opposed to many tracks where you see a corner or two and watch the rest on a screen.

The way you can see most of the track from this view!!!

@benjaminfraser @ausgrandprix Yeah the car is irrelevant, it’s about hearing the V10 engine for most people. Hence why they apologize there’s no V10 to replace it.
How about my flights, hotel, refund for the annual leave I took from work etc?
Nowhere did I say it was decisive, only that it contributed.
English

@dylanlindgren @ausgrandprix I have yes, I meant the car itself.
Listen, if you want to sell the ticket now the car wont be there, im sure I can help find someone.
I still maintain it wasn't a decisive factor for anyone.

UPDATE 📣
Due to mechanical issues with the 2001 Jaguar-Cosworth R2 V10, the scheduled appearances for Thursday and Friday will no longer take place. Unfortunately, the car could not be fixed in time and was also the only running V10 in Australia.
To replace the V10 demonstration and ensure fans still get to see and hear an epic F1 car of a past era, we have secured the 1988 Lola Larousse Cosworth V8.
Driven by Philippe Alliot in the 1988 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, the car features a 3.5-litre Cosworth V8 engine which produces more than 550 horsepower.
The V8 demonstration will take place at Albert Park on Thursday 5 March at 4:20pm and Friday 6 March at 11:40am. 🏎️

English

@benjaminfraser @ausgrandprix Have you heard a V10 F1 engine in person before?
He’ll even swap it for this Renault Espace which forget the 107% rule would probably not even qualify under a 150% rule. Just give me a V10, any V10. youtu.be/L75DTTYr6Ug?si…

@dylanlindgren @ausgrandprix I dont believe anyone was on the fence and this pushed them over.
Maybe im naive on this, but it wasn't even that good a car.
English

@OlIronic @ausgrandprix Yup. All the more reason to be cautious in the lead up and not run them ragged at other events the previous weekend.
Like if you wanted to run a marathon, you wouldn’t run a different marathon the day before.
English

@dylanlindgren @ausgrandprix Dont forget those cars are historical and needs a good and loveley handeling. such things can happens even if its an jaguar, they were sick in 2001 too
English

@benjaminfraser @ausgrandprix Never said it was the sole reason, but it could push someone from 95% to 100% committed to buying a ticket.
Everything about the event and program is designed to entice people to come.
English

@dylanlindgren @ausgrandprix Who is buying a grand prix ticket specifically to see a 2001 grand prix car?

@UnderSecPD @NRLKnights My team from my home town in Australia, the Newcastle Knights! Awesome!

Thrilled to be in Vegas for the NRL Indo Pacific Forum — and tomorrow’s opener! The @NRLKnights generously showed me the basics of footie (though I think my hands were too small to manipulate the ball), though I gather it gets more aggressive on the field. Looking forward.
